Hathaway has been a huge disappointment. Would like to see him playing with Cates and Poehling before I decide is he’s truly cooked or just getting Deslauriered to death.

Defending himself is absolutely fine. Going after Cousins, I have no problem with (well, no problem with Gudbranson. I have a huge problem with the officials not kicking Cousins out of the game after the initial hit.) However, when the guy's face down on the ice, don't punch him in the back of the head. Both players could have paralyzed the other at various times throughout that sequence.

I was predicting this all last season, when it was at its worst. Textbook case of a player being used against his skillset, and he dutifully went along with it. It would be cool to have a coach who could find a way to use players to their best abilities instead of trying to cram them all into the same peghole.
