Wasn’t sure if a Byram trade might fit into things for the re-tool/rebuild especially given the respective teams windows.

Also since I haven’t been around Flyers board much.. How the f*** did you guys land Michkov!? Let’s hope he’s as good as he appears to be. I don’t think it’s crazy for him to compete for the best player in the draft. Is this board as hyped about him as I am?
A combination of team's outsmarting themselves, Michkov basically telling teams he has no interest in playing for them, and dumb blind luck.

We're all obviously super excited about him but the majority of us know that the Flyers should be building towards his arrival so that they can compete during Michkov's window but that doesn't seem to be their plan. So we sit here anticipating another Giroux like run of just an all time great's career being wasted.

I’d love Byram. Give him a chance outside of Makar’s shadow, and he will flourish imo.

There is no way the Avs move him, I think they know the skill they have for a very reasonable contract. One more season until they have to pay him, and Rantanen.

Flyers would be smart to try to offload them of Johansen’s contract who clearly isn’t a fit, or trusted. With Makar healthy, makes sense for them to go for it this year.

I believe him. Gout is impossibly bad.
I must be on the low end of the gout spectrum. I'll get sausage toes and it definitely hurts to walk but I still can. I've played softball (poorly) with gout. Mrs. Parent is more of the "the blankets are excruciating pain on my gouty foot" variety. And she has a MUCH higher pain tolerance than I.

Jeff Carter must be on his last legs. Only 2 points this year averaging just over 10 minutes per game.
He has two Stanley Cups. Why not just retire?
Carter strikes me as the type that probably still loves being on the road with the boys.

He's accomplished everything he wants, might as well have a year of getting paid to play a low stress position on the team and have a blast on the road before riding off into the sunset.

Another as in “in addition to the Flyers?”

I think they think their talent level &/or potential talent level is higher than reality. They’re pinning a lot of hope on Caufield, Slafkovsky, & Reinbacher. They seemingly are drafting for fit or already have with those guys in mind while often favoring players with less plausible upside.

Montreal isn’t anywhere near or project to be talented enough to pass on talents like a Michkov, Eiserman, Demidov, etc.

Ovechkin on pace for 16 goals this year. At this rate he'll have to play until his mid 40's to break the record.
