I really wish Lukas Reichel represented CZ after I idolized his uncle Robert Reichel when I was a kid

I went to watch the Bedards the Knights.

Bedard is insane, Korchinski and Reichel are really close to being fantastic. Reichel could have had 3 points but neither he nor his line mates can burry one

Reichel is being ruined with this idioitic experiement using him as a C

Hawks need to stick his ass on Bedard's wing and let him flourish. It also would give Bedard talent to play with

What did you think of Vlasic before his injury? He has been among best Hawks to start year

Sounds like there was another Clint Malarchuk-like situation in a UK game that may have claimed the life of former Penguin, Adam Johnson.

No credible reports have confirmed the news yet, but it's not sounding good.

I don't want to watch the video, so I don't know exactly what happened beyond that he sustained a skate slash across his throat.

No video in this link and it doesn't give too much additional information:

I actually think Vlasic is looking damn fine

And I agree. Let Reichel be a winger

This is my hometown team. Thankfully my parents decided to avoid this game, some things you can never unsee. Such a freak accident, I’m amazed it doesn’t happen more but devastated for Adam and his family.

He passed away, sadly.

Briefly played for the Phantoms in 2022.

Seems like Johnson's family has confirmed that he didn't make it.

I hope we see more players wearing neck guards. This should be preventable
Most of the guys also let their ears hang out of their helmets even after Carlson's injury last season. The peer pressure not to look wimpy is intense.

Here he confirms his ear stayed on, but he wears extra protection

The 90 mph slapshot had hit Carlson straight in the side of his helmet. That impact pushed the helmet into Carlson's head, which severed his temporal artery and fractured his skull.

Strome and Ovechkin grabbed Carlson and rushed him to the bench, where Erik Gustafsson was ready with a towel. Carlson pressed it to his face and made his way down the tunnel under his own power.

He couldn't imagine what was coming next as the medical team got to work.

"You don't know what's happening at the time," Carlson told The Hockey News in an exclusive 1-on-1 before the season came to an end. "Honestly, for me, I was just thinking that it was a pretty big cut and getting stitched up. It's not like they were telling me, 'Oh man, this is a bad artery here.'"

That was exactly the case, though. Jason Serbus and the team's medical staff had to rush to stop the bleeding before Carlson was stretchered out of the arena and taken to MedStar Washington Hospital Center.

Now that he's back playing, Carlson has taken extra precautions. Though the puck did not impact his ear, which he confirmed while gesturing to the scar on the side of his head, he now wears an ear guard on the right side of his head in games as an extra layer of protection.

"It's not going to hurt, so that's why it's in there," he pointed out.

Now that I've seen the video of the Adam Johnson incident, not on purpose, "freak accident" might be the wrong term used. I was expecting him to be on the ground and accidentally get cut, he was coming across the blue line with the puck and the dude pretty much karate kicked him in the neck...dude should be in jail for murder

Outdoor games in a small stadium in the Great White North makes sense, in football stadiums in most of the US it's just bad ice and bad sight lines.
