Highly doubt a goalie, even a good goalie like Hart, would bring back a haul. I’d love to be surprised though

Situational though, Oilers have to panic.

Hart, Walker
For
Bouchard , 1st , 2nd
I’d obviously do this trade in a heartbeat but I’d have to think a young Dman already playing big minutes with major offensive upside is worth more than Hart himself. I think with more emphasis on system play and more reliance on goalie tandems, goalies aren’t that valuable

I know he’s supposed to be a streaky goalie but jeez. Is it the yips? Hard to believe he’s suddenly not even an AHL level goalie.
Sean Burke talked about this before when he ended up in the AHL briefly before the Kings basically asked the Lightning to put him on recall waivers, about how the AHL can actually be harder for veteran goalies because they’re not used to the dip in quality of play. It’s not as simple as saying it’s a lesser league. It’s developmental. Players aren’t always playing the same way, they’re not in the positions they expect, and they’re taking shots from angles they're supposed to anticipate. He said he was giving up what he felt were soft goals and the coaches were telling him not to worry because he was still playing correct angles, the shots were just not ones he would see in the NHL.

His save percentage went from .856 in the AHL to .901 when recalled, and the Kings were still the third worst team in the league.

Takes me back to the 13-14 Flyers starting out 3-9, but still making the playoffs.

That was after G hurt his hand on the golf club/tree in the summer, and he didn't score a goal until game 16 against the Oilers.

I don't think a new coach will fix their goalie problem.

The shittiest thing is that changing the whole dynamic of their forwards and D-men are the hardest solutions. However, in the short term to deal with those issues, I think changing out goalies and coaches might be the bandaid they need. They are tied for 2nd to last in GF, and that says something considering some of their players.

Either way, their top two lines are basically doing nothing right now and they are generally healthy too, for once.

Have I got the perfect, big, tough, playoff-ready, right handed defenseman for you! Just have to fix the mysterious injury first. They wouldn’t even have to dress Reaves!
