Does Edmonton have enough value to return for Hart, though? I tried looking up scouting reports on their top prospect, Xavier Bourgault, and don't even know if he is an upgrade on Frost. We can also expect that their 1sts for the next couple of years will be late round, especially with competent goaltending.

Plus, Edmonton is capstrung so a salary dump will be required. The goalie I'm sure Holland would love to send back is Campbell, but he has a $5 million hit for 3 years after this one. No way this team should be touching that mess unless Edmonton is sending their 1sts until Kingdom Come. I suppose Hart + Seeler (lol, as if) for Skinner and either Kulak or Ceci would be the best cap-dump scenario.
No salary dump should be out of the question. This team should be targeting 2027. The bigger the cap dump, the higher the draft capital anyway. Bring it all in. Who cares how good Edmonton's record will be, rebuilding teams need more darts anyway. Contenders would be the ones buying Coots, Laughton, and TK too, that changes nothing.

Scorched earth. This obviously is all moot, because again management believes in this team.

Thanks, DP. I just don't think Edmonton can/would supply enough value for Hart and the cap dump to make it worthwhile.

I don’t think there is a single oiler outside of the two untouchables that I would want in a trade for Hart. And they have no cap space.

Draft picks available
2024
1, 2, 5, 6, 6.
2025
1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
2026
1-7.

Three 1st's and a 2nd and I'll drive Hart to the airport. What does Holland care, he won't be here to suffer the consequences if the deal flops.

McDavid has to change his game a bit. Not turn into a checker, obviously. He's talked about culture, he's talked about standards, he's talked about winning. You're not just going to fill the net during the regular season and outscore teams. You have to play on the other side of the puck.

McDavid with only 2 goals so far this year. Looks like he doesn't care anymore now that he had his 60+ goal season.
