Klingberg is a failed experiment.

Pair faber with Brodin and match them against Robinson.

Merrell or Goligoski with Dumba on the third pair.

Puhis

Will accept caffeine.

I want Gus to start Game 1. But after weeks of hearing about it nearly everyday, someone is making me almost.....almost want it to be Fleury just to see how high the flames reach from the massive explosion. Might be a freak out that would rival Avder from back in the day. ;);)

I'm ready for chaos.

"Write an Avder rant about Wild starting the wrong goalie in game 1" should be a ChatGPT prompt.

If this team shits the playoff bed again, there needs to be significant changes to coaching staff.

They have too many built in excuses from the top down. From the dead cap to Ek being hurt. They will absolutely shit the bed and there will be no changes except maybe blaming Rossi and trading Addison lol

If Dean sticks to his M.O. like banging his head against the wall even if things are clearly not working... then yes.

I can see it, if things do appear to be working, but maybe a bounce here or there are the difference and lose... he skullcap be fine.

Sometimes you just lose no matter what, even if playing well.

The problem in past years, the team WASN'T playing well, and still little or nothing was adjusted to try to change that.

So they will #@$! the bed? No matter what? Even if Ek magically heals and comes back?

If Ek heals magically and Kap is 100% and they jam geriatric Zucc full of so much meth he’s able to turn back the clock to 6 months ago when he wasn’t completely useless then they are probably 50/50 to win this series.

Hyperbole doesn't accomplish anything here. This seems to be nothing more than a "bit" at this point.

It has to be. Because if they have no chance of doing anything, and for the reasons he listed, then what has all this #@$! about the goalies been about? Why worry at all about who starts if they're gonna lose anyway? Let's just throw a 3rd string crease monkey in there and be done with it.

I mean Russo is literally telegraphing flower for game 1 lol , there are still some here that don’t see it.
Our hunch is that Filip Gustavsson, who started Thursday’s regular-season finale, will get the nod for Game 1. And it would be deserved. The youngster ranks second in the league in goals-against average and save percentage, and could end up a Vezina Trophy finalist.
Who's not seeing what now?

Also of note, Russo calling out Zucc..
Who needs to pick up his play the most?
Russo: Zuccarello. Besides the fact he has been underwhelming in three postseasons with the Wild (one goal and seven assists in 17 games), he went from having a monster first half to a really subpar second half.

This was not just when Kaprizov went down. This was pretty much right when the calendar flipped to mid-January (four goals, 19 assists in the final 38 games).
His decision-making with the puck has been risky, he throws pucks away way too often and he hasn’t been producing much.

The Wild need him to rekindle that first-half fire quickly and regain chemistry with Kaprizov, something we did not see in the two games they played together after Kaprizov returned from injury.
Also, Addison likely not getting into the playoff lineup.
Addison has basically become the Wild’s ninth defenseman, so it would take a desperate situation or injuries for him to get another chance.
With how far his stock has fallen, I don't see how Addison is still here next season.

My issue with the goalie situation is the lip service concerning the merit based system
and going with the best chance to win guy blah blah blah.

So, you just hate that they talk about it at all then... got it.
You know, they talk about it because they're asked, right?

Okay, I love the idea of Ek back. Just hope that an injury doesn't get made much worse by throwing all caution to the wind to rush back.

And.....Klingberg injury.

Why play with Gus or Flower when they can play both? 4 skaters and 2 goalies at the ice. Play 1 defenseman and 3 forwards. Wild is one of the best teams shorthanded anyways

If Zuke is weighing down the first line, maybe try Nyqvist in that spot? He is a good playmaker and can score too. Kap can probably build chemistry with him.
This is not the time to be experimenting

Ek is such as absolute beast. A literal freak. He probably broke both tib and fib and they are already healed. If the team played a game of boot hockey on a pond in July… Ek would be the only one not swimming.

It things are clearly not working? Yes it is. You do what needs to be done. You don't keep banging your head against the same wall hoping for a different result.
Have you spoken to Dean about this? I feel like this would be new news to his ears. Someone has to deliver it to him. Why not you?
