He had some respectable numbers in the AHL last season. There is also a huge difference between AHL and the NHL.Because the guy is a journeyman AHL goaltender?

I feel like people don’t realize how good Wallstedt is.He had some respectable numbers in the AHL last season. There is also a huge difference between AHL and the NHL.
He maybe the best since Vasilevskiy but I wouldn't pencil him in immediately. He's still what 19?I feel like people don’t realize how good Wallstedt is.
Id be open to trading Kulikov for a 4th liner with a smaller cap hit just so we dont put a prospect in that position when we already have Duhaime and Dewar there.Russo is reporting that Guerin is still working the trade market(Kulikov for forward?), but is also looking to sign a forward in FA. Says that he doesn't want a young prospect to be a 12/13th forward.
If Greenway is out for the beginning of the season, I can see Duhaime moving up the the JEE line till he comes back, leaving spots open for two of Rossi/Chaffee/Rau/Shaw/FA forward.
With Merrill possibly being out for the beginning of the year also, Addison would need to be in the top 6 if Kulikov traded, though I could see Mermis being brought up, also.
I sort of hope that we don't trade for a forward, because i think he will tend to block any upward movement form the prospect pool. I guess it really depends on who is signed.
Could put Shaw there.Id be open to trading Kulikov for a 4th liner with a smaller cap hit just so we dont put a prospect in that position when we already have Duhaime and Dewar there.
You could and I would not be overly worried about it as its a 4th line and it shouldnt get a ton of minutes anyway. Just dont care to see anyone but maybe an AHL lifer be put on the 4th line which I do believe Russo hinted at them not wanting players such as Beckman and Rossi being 4th line or press box material so this should not become a problem.Could put Shaw there.
Yeah, not only because they are still quite young and need to be playing, but neither's game is well suited to the 4th line. Chaffee and Shaw are a different story. Fogarty, too.You could and I would not be overly worried about it as its a 4th line and it shouldnt get a ton of minutes anyway. Kulikov is better than Addison at this point. Trading Addison makes more sense to me.Russo is reporting that Guerin is still working the trade market(Kulikov for forward?), but is also looking to sign a forward in FA. Says that he doesn't want a young prospect to be a 12/13th forward.

I agree, just noting that hopefully they aren’t forcing a square peg into a round hole just so it’s in the nhl.Yeah, not only because they are still quite young and need to be playing, but neither's game is well suited to the 4th line. Chaffee and Shaw are a different story.
Better at what?Kulikov is better than Addison at this point. Trading Addison makes more sense to me.
Trading 1 of our 2 RD prospects makes more sense to you than trading a 31 year old LD?Kulikov is better than Addison at this point. Trading Addison makes more sense to me.
If Addison is so good, why did Benn play as much as he did last year?Trading 1 of our 2 RD prospects makes more sense to you than trading a 31 year old LD?
If Benn is so good, why didn’t they bring him back this year?If Addison is so good, why did Benn play as much as he did last year?
Because coaches obsess over veteran presence over actual playing ability? If Addison is so good, why did Benn play as much as he did last year?
Because they didnt want Addison in a bottom pairing role. With a healthy Dumba and Spurgeon they did not have the proper opening for him.If Addison is so good, why did Benn play as much as he did last year?

He certainly isn't ready for a top 4 pairing. Unless he gets a whole hell of a lot better defensively.Because they didnt want Addison in a bottom pairing role. With a healthy Dumba and Spurgeon they did not have the proper opening for him.
Bottom pairing role would've been just fine, along with PP #2.Because they didnt want Addison in a bottom pairing role. With a healthy Dumba and Spurgeon they did not have the proper opening for him.
He isnt going to improve defensively if you never let him learn, he is not perfect but he is not rookie dumba bad either. He certainly isn't ready for a top 4 pairing. Unless he gets a whole hell of a lot better defensively.
I am not saying it wouldnt of been fine. I would of accepted it as a good learning curve for him last season however they have a specific role they want him in and learning and bottom pairing is not it. they said it more than once and their usage of Benn over him was showing it. He is Spurgeons successor. period, end of story in their eyes. If Spurgeon isnt hurt for whatever reason they did not look his way much.Bottom pairing role would've been just fine, along with PP #2.
Bottom pair D =/= 4th line forward.
I think he is Dumba's successor. He isnt going to improve defensively if you never let him learn, he is not perfect but he is not rookie dumba bad either.

I am taking what they say and how they use him as accurate. They say he will be used the exact way spurgeon is. Faber = Dumba, Addison = Spurgeon. not sure I agree however that is the way i see it giving what they have said about Addison and how they used him.I think he is Dumba's successor.
