In other words, a point per game player is worth $8M, fits well with Zucc's value based on the evaluation by both Capfriendly and The Athletic. A 50% discount on his new contract, in return I'd say Guerin won't trade him.

So it's sad to see the trash talking by some fans. Zucc playing a game with a broken bone in his arm shows how much he cares for this team. He started this closed door meeting the other day, Russo said. And he was very vocal in there. It really helped, a very different team came out against the Islanders.

With all this, Zucc earns a lot of respect from his teammates, they listen to him. To have a leader like this on a very teamfriendly contract is something you should be happy about.

A PPG winger is worth $7.5m-$8m a year (most of the time) that way it leaves room for missing a few games.

Edit. I should add that this is for UFA years. RFA years should be at a bigger discount to the team.

The trash talking is partly due to Zucc’s special ability to turn the puck over and partly due to the way you talk about him never doing anything wrong/anything anyone does well is because of Zucc or his leadership/etc. It really hits a cringe point when you call out Kaprizov for his bad play because that’s the guy that carries this team more than anyone else. It’s someone playing favorites, whom wasn’t a fan of this team before and likely won’t be a fan after Zucc moves on or retires, that drives people up a wall. At least that is what it is for me. I don’t mean this in a flaming sort of way, but more of a see it from our perspective kind of way.

Most people appreciate Zucc on this team. Some think it would be nice to have some separation between him and Kaprizov when things are stale. Some think he should get the same treatment a Rossi would if he turned the puck over like Zucc.

This team is better with Zucc than without. I will admit that.

If we aren’t the easiest team in the league to play against, who is? Not counting teams that are blatantly tanking like SJ & Chicago.

Rossi, Gaudreau, Boldy, Zucc, Mojo, Spurgeon, Brodin are all fine players but they are all fairly soft. Individually, it’s not a problem, but collectively, it is definitely a problem. It also likely contributed to the Hartman, Foligno contracts that are basically unanimously despised.

I agree with DGB about the ass-kissing of Zucc by Webster. Its rarely more than an annoyance for me, but sometimes it comes with a whiff of condescension - like MN doesn’t deserve him - and that can be aggravating. Not to mention it’s just a little weird IMO.

The Athletic puts a disclaimer on those numbers explaining they are NOT what a player would receive on a contract on the open market. You choose to ignore that fact.
This was no 50% discount, because he was never going to get $8m/yr at his age...period.

He's easily worth $12M a year, because he plays with a broken arm, and when he's barking orders in the locker room everyone stands on guard and plays like their life depended on it.

In other news, MoJo has already paid off his contract for this year, because he make 2 mil. So at 22 points, he makes 90 000 per point and the formula was 100 000 k a point.

The annoying thing for me with watching on Prime or Peacock vs. a regular cable channel is that you can't quickly change between channels like you can with cable. It has to it's whole boot up schtick, which takes a few seconds at least, before you get to the actual content.

For an impatient watcher like me who avoids ads like the plague, it's a big turn off. Football is the worst with all it's stoppages. If i can't quickly switch in and out of a telecast, I won't watch it. Wouldn't watch the KC/Miami game because it was on Peacock.

Wild games on Prime next season?

Finally. Watching games for me requires the right time and place. I'd love it if the games were on Prime. I hope they eventually put them all there.

Wonder if it'll be an add-on, or included with regular Prime.....
I didn't even consider that. I hope it's not an add-on, but it'd probably still be far cheaper than the current options.

Nearly 40 teams across MLB, the NBA and the NHL have local television contracts with Bally Sports regional affiliates, but not all television providers have deals to carry Bally Sports networks. YouTubeTV users have long been unable to watch their local teams’ games without subscribing to Bally Sports’ streaming service.

Now, those fans should be able to see their teams play if they have an Amazon Prime subscription.
This is good! I wasn't going to go chasing Ballys across services as they became available only to become unavailable... then sure as hell wasn't going to pay their premium to stream. Going to Prime has them coming back to me with a service I already have!
Prime has already had a limited number of live sports events available to all prime members, this shouldn't be any different than the other sports they've added. This will just be more local based to access.

Now it's just a matter of when will this happen?

It's also possible that it will be made available as a "prime subscription" but if it is... I HIGHLY doubt its at the same price point we currently see Bally's as a stand alone service.

Also... all of this could've been avoided. Amazon wanted to buy these networks outright from Fox before Sinclair purchased them for far more than they were worth. Sinclair gambled and failed and went bankrupt. Amazon wouldn't have outpriced themselves with this stuff so much in the first place.

I THOUGHT the intent from Bally was to integrate live betting in the app as well. "Unfortunately" they forgot they needed to make a working streaming app first.

So Billy thinks ALL of our defensemen are playing well?

Wild likely to explore trade options after season-ending injury to Jared Spurgeon

Guerin said the trade market is an option he’s going to explore.

“We’ve got a lot of defensemen here,” Guerin said. “We’ve got six guys playing well right now, two guys in the stands right now that have played well and contributed. Whether we use that (trade market) or not is TBD. We’ll see. We could. I just don’t know yet.”

Unfortunately Spurgeon is out for the season with a messed up hip
He's really not that good, according to some Wild fans on this board.

Old, Small defensman having hip and back surgeries is locked up for a few more years. Another Bull Guerin masterclass on how to sign the worst f***ing contracts ever.

You gosh darn Spurgeon hater.

Welcome to the club. :naughty:

His contract is starting to really annoy me.

Never been worth his contract.

So I counted 3 new injuries last night. So there will be some call ups today?
They don’t have another back to back for at least a month. Theoretically, the goalie could be McIntyre and Gus plays every game. Gus hasn’t been great though and it would be nice if Wallstedt was given another chance.

Probably Khaira or Fogarty for Dewar.

Who is the third injury?
