I think he's better than Panarin almost. If he can get to 100 points, then god damn. He's pretty safe bet to be close Panarin level. Don't think Wild will regret this move.
Except if you watched him play, he was very good against Vegas and Colorado as well.Come on guys... Let's be realistic he isn't sniffing those numbers. He shot at 17% for 55 games. Of those 55 games, 32 of them were against Anaheim, SJ, Arizona, and LA.
This is a terrible deal that is going to backfire hard.
Neat. Kaprizov is in between him and Nylander. Fair value. Especially with the cap increasing since Rantanen signed that contract.
Because he’s the dolla bill Kirill55 games = 9mil … this is ridiculous
Hahaha um what?Even if this ends up being a bad contract, who cares? It ends in five years, we're not going to be relevant for those five years anyway. There's very little actual practical risk in this deal.
The salary cap has been the exact same every year since Rantanen signed his contract. You think given NHL experience, play style, pedigree, blah blah all things considered that Rantanen is worth 160k more per year than Kaprizov only?
Not sure where Nylander files in this area. Toronto has been less than stellar at contracts and he even sat out. He's also Nearly 3m less than either of the other two.
Hey that poster was right. He was still a turd about it though.

An NHL team paying a player for what he accomplished in a different league is the definition of asinine.View attachment 465867
have you seen the way that kaprizov plays? He does deserve the money
6.9 is nearly 3 m less than 9 million?

Sorry, I thought it was under 6.5 Either way a crappy contract is a crappy contract and I don't think Nylander is worth that much. Unless you factor in the other salaries on his team.

“He just doesn’t want to be here long term”
Still not a fan of the deal, but atleast it’s over with.

Sure but you want to factor context too. The wild were in a tougher spot, and they still got him for less. People shit on the Marner deal still partly because how it was perceived at the time it was signed. Is it not normal to compare contracts?
Where are you getting this?Sounds like he doesn't. And I bet he won't be a Wild in 5 years time.
