So depth dman and picks, like it was reported earlier this week. I take it it's disappointing. Not sure if it was because of lack of offers or because they really wanted Hunt in particular.

That’s all Columbus got? An AHL D man and a later first? Should have held out for a one for one deal instead of multiple average assets.

I wonder if this means the Wild will have to play him in the NHL? Thought he was disappointed that he couldn't get big club time with the Blue Jackets. Not a bad price to pay if he could really help (1st might be the only substantial asset, depends if the other things pan out)

Hunt is on most any NHL blue line right now save maybe a handful. Nothing to be ashamed of acquiring him, he’s a strong prospect and is in relative obscurity because he’s a Wild prospect. Going to be a good defender for many years. Could do a lot worse than him especially with a 1st round pick attached to him for a prospect that carries a lot of name recognition but not much behind it at the pro level.

Wild are gambling on what their projected blue line looks like when all the kids come into form. Looks impressive in theory but Jiricek and even Buium have to prove it first.

The denial of this inevitable trade just had me so confused. No, it's not normal and not a non-issue to sit a 21 top 10 pick 2/3rd of his games in a year.

Return is probably not terrible for Columbus, but quantity, not quality. What do you expect? If you fool around with a player's development, their value around the league is going to drop, and then you'll get quantity, not quality, offers from other teams. No one was going to give up a prized asset for Jiricek.

If he was a RHD, maybe I would see some value here, but now when we have Mateychuk and Svozil in the pipeline, I don’t see the point of getting him
