Ya i was thinking who's the all star defenseman that got this return and then I'm like who?Columbus hands down won this trade ainec.
The picks only matter if he isn't a legit top 4 defenseman. Columbus could pick 6th and it could still work out fine. When the trade was made, the Wild's pick was 31st. Today it's 23rd. Have a feeling it's going to keep getting better for Columbus
Keep getting better? My guy the Wild aren’t going to spiral out of a playoff spot. The pick is going to be a late first rounder (in what has been called a weak draft) and for a 6th overall pick from a value standpoint that is a L.When the trade was made, the Wild's pick was 31st. a 6th overall pick who has major skating problems and hasn't produced even in the AHL this season.Keep getting better? My guy the Wild aren’t going to spiral out of a playoff spot. it's not like it was just jiricek for one first round pick, either. the jackets also got a second… and a third… and a fourth… and a defense prospect who has out-produced jiricek in the AHL this year by a fair bit.
Almost all of it was because of a cap issue. His last game in MN was his best game in MN. I hope he continues where he left off.He looked good for the few games that he played with the Wild. Guerin and Hynes sounded pretty happy with him as well. Wasn't crazy about him being sent back down, but part of the reason for it was the cap issue.
This!I’ll go ahead and trust NHL scouts who think he can skate at an NHL level.
what about the two separate coaching staffs in columbus who thought he couldn't?I’ll go ahead and trust NHL scouts who think he can skate at an NHL level. Can he get better? Of course.
Well, they've clearly never been wrong or made any mistakes. Perennial cup contenders with nothing but the leagues best players and prospects.what about the two separate coaching staffs in columbus who thought he couldn't?
dean evason's a pretty good coach imoWell, they've clearly never been wrong or made any mistakes. Perennial cup contenders with nothing but the leagues best players and prospects.![]()
Right! So cringe.Kind of funny he is getting called up on the same day some posters have declared it a win for Columbus.
I heard Babcock loved his gameWell, they've clearly never been wrong or made any mistakes. Perennial cup contenders with nothing but the leagues best players and prospects.![]()
The kid he rag dolled for hitting him late and then tripped? This trade is looking better and better for Columbus.
Could be highway robbery.
And yeesh - that fight with a 5’10 player when you’re 6’4. Embarrassing for 2 reasons.
1. He lost.
2. You’re 6’4 and challenging a guy that’s 5’10. Be a man and find a big boy. If you’re mad at that specific player - don’t get levelled by guys you shouldn’t be fighting.
I haven’t been a fan of a lot of Guerin’s moves but I do trust a 4 time NHL allstar and 400+ goal scorer to know who can skate and who can’t. Especially compared to a bunch of dudes who read a couple sentences on I’mright.com and now think they know who can skate and who can’t.what about the two separate coaching staffs in columbus who thought he couldn't?
