Stewart signed for less than king did he not?

Stewart - $1,700,000
King - $1,950,000

Dwight King is a better hockey player than Chris Stewart. Stewart is the Ducks annual plug signing. Just like Penner and Heatley. I bet he doesn't even finish the season on the Ducks.

I think Stewart is better than Penner and definitely heatley last year. He is a bargain signing IMO.

Stewart shows up about as often as it rains in SoCal.
FTR- we are in a historic drought

"Like the ad said, it was a big part of my life," Lucic said. "I got to win a Stanley Cup there on an Original Six franchise and bring it back where greats like Bobby Orr got to play. It was a real special time for myself and I just kind of wanted to close the chapter of my life there with something like that."

Shame on you for mentioning "Original 6", shame, shame, shame!

well to be fair, if the actual team culture is anything like what the local media/fanbase cultivates in those cities, it's a lot of nut huggery about "legacy" and "tradition"

The Pacific is getting tough again.

Vancouver adds Prust, Arizona add's Downie and John Scott, Kings add Lucic, and Ducks at Stewart.

We could be in trouble if we get in a bar fight.

On the ice not to worried about any of these guys, they all suck except for Lucic. Arizona plans to put a joke product on the ice so ofcourse they will sign joke players like Downie and Scott.

ducks also added Big Earn...although I think he'll play n the AHL

They are rumored to be siging Big Worm next

Yeah, I cringed when I heard that and immediately thought of RP as well.

Bottom line, he's allowed one of those per month. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, and besides, the players are all ingrained during their lifelong media training about "original six" so I can't fault him for blurting it out once in a while.

And I am reminded of a great bumper sticker from the '80s, and it applies here as well:

"The Original Six Is Neither"

i was not happy with the trade at first purely for contractual reasons, but i am now so excited for this lineup. i really can't wait.

When the trade first went down, I felt like I was saying goodbye to a child of my own. Heartbroken doesn't seem to be enough to describe the sadness. He was a baby when he came to Boston. Two years older than my youngest child. We watched him go from a fourth line knock out specialist to a first line goal scorers/intimidator. He learned how to pick and choose his battles. For the most part. <grin> We watched him go from young teenager making crazy money for his age to getting married and becoming a Dad. He lived with us, in our city. He dined at the same places we did. He went to the same city events thst we did. Combine that with what he did for us on the ice, and have you what for me anyway, is someone whom I will always root for, no matter who he plays for. I am thankful to be on the west coast knowing I'll get to see him destroy Vancouver more frequently. It's rather entertaining. I'm only sad thst some of the characters he'd go at it with are no longer on that time.
