Any interest in trading Sergachev for #8 overall? Not saying that Tampa Bay is putting him on the block or anything, but have read from a few different people they would listen to a great offer (free up some money/Sergachev on the 3rd pair is a luxury etc.).

Not enough for Serg and probably not the kind of asset we'd want back. Would prefer effective roster players on affordable deals. We'd probably have to flip the #8.

Got it, makes sense seeing as how the Lightning’s cup window is obviously open. I guess it depends on your definition of affordable effective roster player, but the Wings only have a few and they won’t be traded (Larkin, Seider, Raymond). Thanks for the reply, I love Sergachev’s game and would enjoy seeing him on the top pair next to Seider.

Just speaking for myself, if Sergachev is traded I'd prefer to see it be someone NHL-ready, relatively promising, on their ELC, and that either be a RD or C. Not sure who the RD could be, but if it were a C then someone like Newhook, Mercer (although he may have been moved to wing?), Sillinger, etc.

We need a RW. Badly. Behind kucherov there's makeshift Stamkos, Colton (meh), Perry and whoever. Not good enough

I've talked more shit against Sergachev than any human being alive banging the trade drum louder than anyone. And now after what I saw in the SCF I'd have to say the Lightning need to be very careful with it because they need cost controlled assets. And because of that this Yzerman's best judgement could tell him there's simply not a deal to be made.

Sergachev on his season so far:
"The points were coming in, but I'm kinda focused on my defense. Trying to play hard in the d-zone, trying to make crispy passes. When points are coming it always gives you confidence, but in the defensive end I wasn't as good."
"The first 3 games were kinda disastrous for me, and I didn't play well. Now every game, every shift I'm getting more confident back there, getting more minutes. It's getting better, but it's not nearly enough of what I should be doing."

As up and down as the team's performance was tonight against Ottawa, I thought it was one of Serge's better games. It was good timing for it with Heddy being out.

other than the first couple of games he has been pretty good. idk about 8.5 million good but close enough i guess
