No, MacKinnon is not being moved for anything realistic. Get out.

actually... Galchenyuk outproduce mckinnon the last two years... this season so far and last season.

and please remember that mckinnon is playing a full 2 minutes more per game then galchenyuk. and has been since his first season

his (galchenyuk) pts per 60 is even higher the last two seasons.

mind you mckinnon wasnt stuck with prust, DD or Eller as his linemates for his first two seasons

but that doesnt matter.

Even if Glachenyuk keeps up his ppg average all season it stil lwouldnt matter.

in fact in his last 55 games hes averaging 1 PPG.

you know since he has been moved to center.

but this is a proposal thread and the OP would still have to add.

Sergachev is the highest rated D man in last years draft by more then half the GMs but potential isnt always what counts.

There is absolutely ZERO evidence of that.

The closest you get to an opinion from GM's is bob mckenzie's rankings which are a sample size of GM's and he wasn't top there.

so yeah

I think you guys are forgetting the salary cap.

?
Desharnais is 3.5M this year.

Colborne + Grigo is 3.8M.

Bednar doesn't seem to be Grigos biggest fan lately and the Avs really could use some extra depth in the future and neither Colborne or Grigorenko will be the difference between playoffs or no playoffs for the Avs...

And we really could use some extra picks right now to finally improve our depth down the line...

so yeah

zero evidence of him being top 2?

EDM was gonna take him at #4 if Puuljarvi wasnt available.

but like i said.. whether he is top or top 2 or top 3.. the diff between galch and mckin is absolutely and most definitely not a top 10 pick

Yeah, then you just bring up one or both of Greer/Compher.

Galchenyuk has 22g 18a 40pts in his last 37 games. That's top 5 pace for ppg in that span. But yea, keep thinking because someone goes 1st it makes him better. Mackinnon has been straight up bad- average this year and he was not convincing last year. I'd take Galchenyuk

I wouldn't. Because if we trade Zadorov we need another potential top pairing D in return aka Sergachev.

And that does not make sense really. Sergachev might have the higher upside (which even might be debatable if Zads can improve his offense a bit) but Zads is already looking good in the NHL right now and is a vital part of our D going forward.

Even if you believe that Sergachev will turn out better, it would not be worth the risk for the Avs to gamble on him with Zads already doing so well.

You said he was the top ranked D-man, not top 2.

That was a rumor out of Edmonton and even if it was true, I would put too much into as Chiarelli sucks at drafting.

Arizona liked Juolevi, but montreal fans value Sergachev way too high.

How would you value the second d man taken in the draft after this d man won OHL defensemen of the year being the youngest rookie d man to ever win and second ever rookie d man to win it

also one of six other d men to ever win in their 18th year.

ryan ellis, hartsburgh, berard, SLaney, doughty and ekblad

not comapring him to them.. but why would you say a top ten pick is over valued ? and how would you value a top 10 pick?
