Oh trust me, I agree with you and have been saying as much on this board for years (ok well since 2010 when I became a Kings fan). That is why people are wrong when they say most players don't get developed and become NHL'ers until 25. And wrong when they call guys like Andreoff and Forbort "kids" when they will be 24 and 23 in a couple of months. Most really good NHL players are in the NHL before age 23.

What we are seeing with MR though is basically unheard of, to go from the level of play he was at in 2010 to the level we have seen the past year. It's as if he went from 27 to 39 overnight. I don't know what to make of it, it's basically something that has never happened.

It happens in baseball all the time and there is usually only one reason for it. I'm shocked nobody wants to speculate about it. A guy goes from being a physical player with a nasty side to a soft bodied player who lacks aggression?

the most speculation I have heard is the concussions.
Whta are you referring to? Drugs?

No question the Kings will have to throw in something extra to make it worth it. It just won't be Toffoli or Pearson. Every dollar the Kings don't take back or retain will increase what that extra from the Kings will be. It just won't be Toffoli or Pearson.

My guess is that The Tik was referring to PEDs. Whenever it is baseball players it is PEDs

It had better not be because then site rules will kick in.

The HFBoards Slander Salamander says "Don't you go there, Grrrrrrrrl!

So are there any reports yet that MR has actually reported to Manchester yet? I assume he will be playing Friday?

That midget will be out of the league in 5 years. No thanks.

Will he? St. Louis seemed to have lasted longer than 5 years. Gionta has seemed to find a niche in a league of gigantic men. Same with Theo Fleury, he had a decent career.

Desharnais, Gerbe, Atkinson, Zucarello...

Shall I go on? Height is not the end all be all anymore in the NHL. That being said, you can't have him anyways.

Man these guys seem to be declining earlier and earlier. Its not like the olden days I guess. The game is faster and more physical than ever, with grueling schedules to go along with that. Our guys have played a ******** of hard hockey over the past 3 years, so its to be expected...

I think it is along the lines of this also, our players have played almost a 1/3 of an extra season over the last 3 years, and its been tough hockey mentally and physically. It takes a toll. Now if Richards has been injuried and I still think he is not a 100% concussions are a bugger. THis may have been covered already but could we not put him on LIR so he can recover. Get away from the game abit, get strong get healed and find the fire again, this helps with cap space also?

i understand the kings putting richards on waivers hoping to rid themselves of his contract, but why exactly are they sending down to the ahl? to save 900,000 dollars in cap? makes no sense, sure Richards is underperforming but still an nhl player, and probably the best 4th line center in the league. The Kings are better with Richards in the lineup than without him. How about waiving dustin brown and sending him down to the AHL, guy has been arguably worse than Richards, he has like 2 more points than richards, and he's playing top six minutes. IMO, sending richards down to the minors is completely idiotic and lessens the kings chances of making the playoffs.

 gotta love that gif.

TBH I like the Kings and it's unfortunate what happened with Richards.

As far as my last post goes, could you elaborate as to why you hate "Trademark" so much?

Nobody hates him. But having the media shoving him down our throats and you guys constantly coming onto our forum to lecture us over him is beyond irritating. I couldn't care less what you say about the Kings on your side. You can say Doughty huffs mason jars full of his own farts before each game if you want.

I don't have anything against "Trademark"

I love the guy. Tremendous skill and it's good to see an "undersized" guy make it. You sure won't see an undersized regular on the Kings, imo.

No because it's completely OT and we already closed one thread where Flames fans napalmed the Kings forum.

I don't know how the radar went off where he was found in the Richards thread either but it's not happening in here. There's a closed thread you can read through if you're genuinely interested.
