Hovan lost me when he said Brown comes into camp chiseled. I'm not sure he has a good idea as to what he's printing.

He said he did this year. I don't know if it's true, but it's possible. Brown looks physically better to me on the ice than he did last year. He at least seems a bit faster than last year. But I don't have any proof beyond my eyes. Hoven's closer to the picture than I am so I don't see a reason to doubt that statement.

I find this ****ing hilarious.

I guess you weren't around for much of the pre-2010 years.

No Ofcourse not Ron, I was nowhere to be found before 2010.

You once again completely miss the point in the comments in an attempt to portray someone as a new fan who is spoiled and hasn't suffered as much as you. Congrats Ron, you are older than most and have suffered more than most, it doesn't mean people who suffered for 25 years can't have an opinion or that yours is right because you suffered for 45 years.

But again, when as Kings fans have we ever seen a situation where the Kings have an elite star player who should be in the middle of his prime years who completely falls off the cliff to the point where he no longer is an NHLer. Deadmarsh, Allison and Jimmy Carson? We know Allison and Deadmarsh's careers were cut short with injury, Carson just never had the passion for the game and got out quickly to focus on the rest of his life in the financial field. He was also put in an unwinnable situation by being an American kid who was the centerpiece coming back in the Gretzky trade. Maybe one day we will find out about an injury to Richards that caused this collapse and it can be better explained but until then people are going to discuss Mike Richards in the "Mike Richards discussion" (gasp!) and if the thread bothers you so much or you think for some reason people like myself , BigKing and K17 are "blaming Richards" for the teams failures you probably shouldn't click the thread. It just amazes me that certain people who hate this discussion just can't help themselves from clicking the link and hate it so much they are actually creating false narratives about what is being discussed.

All joking aside, why would the Kings/Richards looking in to getting him into Gary Roberts camp for a summer full of training/eating properly. Im sure it doesnt work for everyone, but I cant think Mike Richards wants this to be happening, nor do the Kings.

Would it not be in both parties best interest to atleast explore this option moving forward? Im a huge Mike Richards fan, I think every young kid should model themselves after how he played the game. He's played a ton of hockey in his lifetime, but thats no excuse. He needs to be in better shape. Then again, maybe he's happy where he's at or there's an injury no one is talking about.

Gary Roberts is not the be all end all of fitness, Nazim Kadri has fallen off the map after training with him(just in one off-season).

The player has to be committed, passed working with Roberts.

I never once suggested he was the "end all be all" ... I was suggesting exploring this option cannot be worse then where we're at now. Its LA's investment that clearly no one is bailing us out of. Maybe actually trying to exhaust all avenues of repairing it would be better then just burying him in the minors year after year.

I still stand by, Fitness is not Richards problem. His diminished Hockey IQ/Skill is.

Fitness is not fixing that. Does Mike Richards look out of shape to anyone ? honestly ?

Just cause some blogger said it was so, doesn't make it so.
