Not gonna get excited about this.... just not gonna look for it. If it happens great, but for now, could all just be smoke and mirrors for leverage.

But if he's asking for a guaranteed spot,,,, other players have paid their dues... Unless this kid is the next Doughty, which I don't think he is.

Kings and Mike Reilly May Have Hit a Serious Snag http://fb.me/30mBWAbu9

figured id put in the main part so people who don't wanna support him by clicking would know

What could be the deciding factor then? MayorsManor has learned that Reilly’s camp has asked for a guarantee that he will be in the NHL next season. Allegedly, Kings GM Dean Lombardi has said the Hobey Baker finalist will have every opportunity to make the team out of training camp, but nothing will be a given.

The most interesting thing got from this, is the 'second contact' (maybe a scout?)
said he would not trade Paul Ladue for Mike Reilly. Wow.

“Reilly is better [than LaDue] offensively, but not as good in his own end. He’s really dynamic offensively. … He’s not Jack Johnson level scary in own end, but also not as big as Jack either. … I’d say he’s like Jared Spurgeon [of the Minnesota Wild] in a lot of ways, but with more size. … Reilly will consistently outscore LaDue in the NHL, but I would not trade LaDue for Reilly.â€

Ladue is right handed too. I was hoping he would have signed.

Exactly, just covering his bases so he can be "right".

In all fairness, he does have connections. In my short time of writing for him, he wasn't about hedging or BSing.

But I don't write for him anymore, and I admittedly have some sour grapes. So I'll just leave it at that.

Did Mayor write an article yet that there is a 110% Williams wont be a King this season?

Last season too. He along with his buddy Bernstein were convinced he'd be traded in 2014 and were disappointed when it didn't happen. I think we're all glad it didn't, even though there wasn't any truth to it.

Pretty much suspected it (NHL spot) from the start.

I did think LA would promise him the spot so I was wrong about that.

It just made no sense to me that they would. Every rookie so far as earned their way to the team Some with less competition than others but they made the team on merit imo He has talent but needs to be developed to play in our system Which means mostly to to work on his defensive side
