Yeah, it's slim pickings over here. I miss Frank Pepe so much.

Oh and I hope Reilly likes gross, sweet and oily Chicago pizza because that's all there is.

Yeah, it's awesome!

:laugh:at the Chicago pizza. Pizza should be an evenly distributed combination of pizza dough, sauce, and cheese. Not 70% dough!

Most Chicago dough is sugary too. Gross.

You're a deep dish fan?!? You're breaking my heart, RP.

Hell no! Deep dish is rubbish.

Okay, good. You had me worried for a moment.

I had that "famous" deep dish pizza in Chicago when i was there a couple years ago. It was soooo disgusting because I had it compared to the taste of Italian Pizza from when i visited Rome, Florence and Venice two years prior.

 There's no pizza in California....

However, In-n-Out, double double w/ grilled onions. That's heaven!

We have pizza. Not only do we have grimaldi's but we have all kinds of neopolitan style wood fired 900 degree oven places.

We also have Round Table

Don't take him to the California Pizza Kitchen!! That'll be a deal breaker!!!

You guys are crazy, deep dish is amazing. It may not really be pizza but either way it's amazing.

NY style pizza isn't far behind though.

there are only 2 eateries I miss in Cali since moving to Denver in 2006,
one of them being Zelo's Pizza in Arcadia. The chef marinates or sautees
the veggies and the meats are incredible. The crust is cornmeal. I have tried
to make this on my pizza stone in Colo and do not come close. Incredible
Za. When I go back to California, it is a must to go there.

The other place I miss is Chili Johns in Burbank. May not be thee best Chili in the
world, but nothing like it. Considered ordering it to be delivered airmail to Denver,
but the minimum order is like $75.

Re: Mile Reilly? If he wants a guaranteed roster spot, I would pass.

not a huge pizza fan but I'll eat it every once in awhile

people in Chicago generally have the food tastes of children though

pizza, hot dogs, and hamburgers. also mac and cheese. everyone here claims they could "live on pizza".

never really sure how to respond to that one.

also, Reilly can earn a roster spot like anyone else. Let him run to the Central if he wants a guaranteed spot.

I think you're right... it isn't exactly pizza, but you can get the crusty cheese on the outside of the pie.... that and because you don't have to worry about transferring the pizza, the dough is really easy to make.

Reilly: I don't think the lack of a guaranteed spot is a deal breaker. If he isn't NHL ready the Hawks aren't going to play him either. He's got to earn it either way. If he isn't good enough to play on a nightly basis then Reilly would probably be better off in the AHL getting 20 mins a night then sitting on the bench...

HHHmmmmm... yup time to start the pizza dough....

earn your spot. F him and his 'guarantee'. i hate this entitlement bs some of these guys pitch. LA isn't desperate and Dean won't get bent over by a player, an agent with terms that fit outside of his family and team approach

I don't think a contract can guarantee some one making the team and playing. Or, for that matter, things like, first line center, first pp unit, 80 starts in goal, etc.

The Mayor John Hoven ‏@mayorNHL 20m20 minutes ago
Kings and Mike Reilly May Have Hit a Serious Snag http://fb.me/30mBWAbu9

figured id put in the main part so people who don't wanna support him by clicking would know

What could be the deciding factor then? MayorsManor has learned that Reilly’s camp has asked for a guarantee that he will be in the NHL next season. Allegedly, Kings GM Dean Lombardi has said the Hobey Baker finalist will have every opportunity to make the team out of training camp, but nothing will be a given.

Absolutely stunning huh? :sarcasm:

While it is the Mayor and therefore to be taken with a block of salt, it never did make sense to think DL was promising or even considering promising this guy a roster spot next year.

The most interesting thing got from this, is the 'second contact' (maybe a scout?)
said he would not trade Paul Ladue for Mike Reilly. Wow.

“Reilly is better [than LaDue] offensively, but not as good in his own end. He’s really dynamic offensively. … He’s not Jack Johnson level scary in own end, but also not as big as Jack either. … I’d say he’s like Jared Spurgeon [of the Minnesota Wild] in a lot of ways, but with more size. … Reilly will consistently outscore LaDue in the NHL, but I would not trade LaDue for Reilly.â€

Ladue is right handed too. I was hoping he would have signed.

Ladue is massively underrated around here. Kid may not make it, nothing is a guarantee, but he's got a lot of all around skill.

Hoven has gotten a bit watered down and mainstream, but I think he still has the best inside track to the org, staff and people. The result may be a bit soft and flowery in the delivery, but the overall content and info is still top notch.

I like LaDue's game personally. He has a very blend of O/D, similar to how DD can get it done on both ends of the ice. He isn't a one trick pony like many of the media darling offense machines, that can't play D to save their lives. I'm not saying he is the second coming of Drew, but he is a solid two way dman.
