If this winds up being proven true, I don't know how Hoffman winds up on another team after defending her. It's one thing to have off the ice issues, but this would be locker room cancer on a whole different planet.

I know you're innocent until proven guilty, but holy moly, if there are as many NHL wives/girlfriends saying this is true, I feel like the court of public opinion has already ruled.

Chris Daniels of KING 5 in Seattle, who a lot of you that may follow the NHL/Seattle thread might recognize as being the main reporter covering that issue here in Seattle, has picked up the story with the above tweet. Having just scanned the story, I would concur with Daniels' assessment that this story is sad and bizarre. Frankly, the only way I feel this can be resolved is probably for both players to be moved elsewhere. Hoffman for sure, and Karlsson more so so he and his wife can start anew in a fresh environment hopefully free of this kind of thing going forward. What's the deal with Hoffman's girlfriend she feels she needs to be doing this kind of thing?

Unfortunately I think you're right. But I would prefer that the police issue some kind of statement or arrest Hoffman's wife in the next day or two. That way they are at least acting on something more than allegations. They can salvage this but it would be nice with a bit of help.

Management had to know about this yet chose to wait until it became public knowledge instead of getting whatever they could for Hoffman at the earliest possible opportunity. The incompetence of the owner and General Manager knows no bounds. Erik Karlsson and his wife deserve our sympathy and support.

I disagree with this take except the last sentence. Sounds like they just found out about this in April, there's no way you could have investigated and reacted that quickly. You would have had to disclose this "potential" story to your trading partners too, just out of decency.
It can be salvaged but timing is bad.
Which ones? I've seen Julie Turris, Kodette LaBarbara, Marlee Hammond, and Taylor Winnik. None of them said they witnessed it.

Nothing points to Hoffman being complicit imo. Its his GF.,, who if she is guilty is certainly not above lying to Hoff. He would not condone this crap .. no way.. He may stand behind his GF as long as he thinks she is innocent of the the charges.. If he finds out she is guilty he has to cut her loose.
