Pro athletes aren't dietitians or doctors.

I'm a meat eater and not a vegan advocate. But there is a ton of misinformation out there about veganism that a lot of people who eat meat seem to espouse like someone who doesn't eat meat is threatening their manhood or something.
What is the misinformation?
If anything there is a ton of misinformation about how beneficial going vegan is and how meat is bad for people.

I used your exact argument on you (except I was using the 99%+ of athletes as my example and you were using the 0.1%) and then you say they aren’t dietitians or doctors lol. Is Chara one?

Mika's been great the last month.

So the diet wasn't the problem? Shocker.

It would be great for Laf or KK to be the bumper guy in the slot because everyone is just going to cheat Mika and Bread and not respect the kids leaving them open. At the very least they should get high danger shots and more space.

Strome actually makes the most sense as the bumper guy on PP1, imo. Since Kreider is a lefty, when he pulls off from parking in front the net and takes the high-to-low pass, he can use the bumper without having to pass it through the penalty killers. Caps use TJ Oshie like this really well.

True. With the way the Rangers run their PP, with the distributor, either Panarin or Strome, on the right wall and Kreider a lefty on at the net front/side of the net it wouldn't make much sense to put a LH shot in the bumper. It would completely nullify the play you are talking about or the one-time option from Panarin/Strome to the bumper.

Panarin actually has a good one-timer but he is allergic to shooting this season. Now that Panarin is on the right sight there's no reason for Strome to be on the PP but he'll still stick annoyingly when Laf or KK should be there

He's got a a decent one timer, nothing great. He never used it and teams knew that. now that they have coming downhill with the puck on his stick, they have to respect hit shot and he's actually been using it and it's been opening up the passing lanes really well. I like the new PP setup

Caps have Kuznetzov and Backstrom on Left wall and down low. Oshie takes 1ters from the slot as well. Oshie is a shooter, strome is not.

Take a Wild Guess
Bingo!

I'm old enough to remember when we complained about players "only scoring in October". Now we have a guy who finishes better than he starts, and it's still not good enough

I know you're not a New Yorker, well at least you don't live here, but you sure as shit know New Yorker's. But let me ask you this about your time on this forum, is there anything good enough ever for this place? If the Rangers won the cup in 16 straight games, there would be some asshole complaining it was too easy.

I said multiple times this offseason that he spent the summer preparing for his wedding and wasn't training how he normally does so we should expect a slow start.

Almost every other professional athlete in the world would like to have a word with you then lol.

It's fine, I'll have George LaRocque at my side. Lewis Hamilton will give us a ride. lol I usually keep my mouth shut about this stuff, but quite honestly, it's gotten extremely annoying. Not only that, the misinformation I've seen here is just insane. Here's the rub: I'm by no means a strict vegan. Ya'll gotta realize meat is like the shitty mcdonalds burger of the protein world. It's quick and easy, but by no means the best. It has high caloric density for it's mass. That's it.

Reality: He was hit pretty hard by long covid. Look at what it did to whole bunch of athletes around other sports. It almost ruined Matt Murray.

Feel for Mika, obviously can't say whether he would he rather not do any interviews at all, but have a feeling he'd at least prefer to answer some more intelligent/relaxed and not run of the mill Qs from the reporters that those he presented with.

You should probably actually look into which athletes are mostly or near 100% plant based. Give it a google search and you may be surprised.

Venus Williams, Cam Newton, Novak Djokovic (who is literally ranked number 1 in the world), Tom Brady (he's like 80% plant based 20% meat), etc.

It's very common among rock climbers, iron man competitors, cyclists, etc.

We are omnivores and have evolved to eat meat. I wouldn't give it up personally - I'm eating grilled chicken in a salad as I type this. But if you get all of the same amount of calories, nutrients, and vitamins from plants + supplements, there isn't much difference from an athletic perspective.

I went vegan for a few months a few years ago and it didn't negatively impact my performance at the gym during that stretch. It's just when people attack vegans and say "you NEED meat" I find it very obnoxious since it's clearly not true for everyone and plenty of people out there have competed at the highest levels of sports without eating meat.

If you stop eating it, it's not like your body implodes. Especially if you're a pro athlete who knows how to supplement/get all the necessary nutrients.

Personally, I prefer more of a Mediterranean diet for my fitness goals.

One shutout out of 16 wins isn't too much to ask for. You want to be armed with stats when you go into a street fight with another message board poster comparing who's the "better greatest" goalie and playoff shutouts come up.

Winning an Internet debate is the greatest feeling in the world.

I kid, I kid.
