I'd like to know what the second half numbers of Mika vs. all of the superstars in the league the last 3 years.

Boy, does he turn it on in the second half. Slow starter

Bingo!

I'm old enough to remember when we complained about players "only scoring in October". Now we have a guy who finishes better than he starts, and it's still not good enough
Ain't that the truth! Only thing better.......is having a season where you start strong, maintain strong, and finish strong. You know, like going goal less 3 consecutive games , but just 1 time. Ummm, think his name is Chris Kreider.

There's more to it than conditioning and working out, imo. He's engaging physically, so I'm inclined to say that we're seeing vintage pre-concussion Mika.
Yeah, huh? He threw a nice body check on.....I think a player on the Devils, or was it Buffalo? Anyway, thought it was Trouba as it was THAT good.

The production of Kreider isn't separate from Zibanejad's contribution in any way. Mika has served alot of easy goals for Kreider even when Mika himself struggled, especially with the scoring repertoire Kreider now has in his arsenal.

Even if there were tricky goals in there, Mika has also served some silver platter goals to Kreider. That's the importance of chemistry and that's why I think it could've been the best line in hockey if Buchnevich was still around. Buchnevich was making Mika's scoring streaks look so effortless even though he was a big part in them.

True but you pay 12m for that haha

Again, ain't that the truth! That's where the joke is on the side of the Rangers. What are we paying Kreids? 7.5mil? Amazing to me how so many people wanted to disassociate Kreider from the Rangers. He may not have any further 50-goal seasons, but man, he is going to be worth every dollar, and probably even his last year.

You know, thinking about it, this guy might be the least appreciated best player in Rangers history. Not that people shit on him, or anything, but man has he produced like few centers in Rangers history and I think we all take him for granted. The guy is a machine down the stretch every year. I'd love to see him have some playoff success as well.

"But he doesn't score in November" or something

Mika & Kreider bridging the gap from Henrik's era, through the rebuild, where they never showed a thread of discontent, and into this new window of winning shows a ton about their character. Gallant has talked about how they both came in from Day 1 wanting to get back to the playoffs and they've played big boy hockey all year.

The organization is lucky to have these guys (and Trouba) leading us, and they deserve credit for choosing them as the guys to commit to when they were selling everything else off. Its a good time to be a Ranger fan.

He was easily our best playoff forward in 2016-2017.

He's 2x the player since then. I fully expect his line to dominate and lead this team offensively

The issue with Mika is engagement. At the beginning of the year he was puck watching and floating. Maybe he was out of shape. Who knows.

When Mika at the top of his game, he is 100% locked in and a non-stop workhorse.

considering we will have him for quite a long time, hes prob gonna be near the top of the rangers record books in most stats.

Don't have time to do other players here but some rough math tells me after the halfway point since the 19-20 season, he scored at roughly a 55 goal, 55 assist pace. Went back and looked at the game logs of mid way point for each season

Kreider's cap hit is 6.5m.

I'll do it.

In games 43-82 (2nd half of the season) since 2019-20, Mika Zibanejad ranks 3rd in goals with 44 behind Auston Matthews (49) and Leon Draisaitl (45).

In points he's tied for 4th with Panarin with 86 behind Connor McDavid (107), Leon Draisaitl (104) and Patrick Kane (88).
