He said before the season he felt like he had another level in him. Not very often people say that and it's actually true, especially for ones who play for the Rangers.

I'm sure this has been mentioned somewhere - Kreider and Zib are really good buddies. Resigning Kreids also gives Zib another reason to extend.
He's UFA in 2 years and will be due for a raise and hopefully it doesnt go down to the wire like Chris's situation did. And hopefully by then the Rangers will be even better and Zib will stay no questions asked.

Thrilled when we got him from Ottawa and never expected him to be this good. Give him whatever he wants if the cap is going to increase after Seattle enters the league.

One of the best trades in recent memory, for sure.
I've been told you can't win a Cup without and elite center and apparently Zib is not an elite center. Gorton better get to work.

20 foot player is a meme that needs to live on forever.
Given Zibanejad two-way play, I may well take him over Draisaitl.

If we could only find a center putting up 1.2 ppg, that can play in every situation, then we can slot Zibanejad on where he belongs.
This guy will amount to nothing, just you wait. Soft 20 ft player with weird hair.

I don't know where he would rank amongst centers in the league, but Zibanejad is clearly top 10 and the best 20 ft player ever.
We have 5 players who are either currently "elite" or on the cusp of being there.

DeAngelo (this will draw the ire of some, but in terms of offensive production and transition, hes about as good as it gets in the league right now. Whats hes done with a boat anchor attached to him all season is remarkable.)

The sooner Kakko and Chytil can step into strong support roles for the top 6 (I'd argue Chytil is pretty much already there) the better. Kakko obviously has the potential to jump into the top group pretty quickly.
We aren't "close" to competing right now, but we've got a lot of the right pieces already. Lets hope that some of the other guys can catch up while the big 2 are still doing these kinds of things.

You've got to think one or both of Chytil and Kakko explode next year. My total gut feeling right now, but man if one or both of them and foxy take big steps next season we're going to be a fantastic team.
