Ok, I'm sure someone else said it, but in what world are any of these players close to a "top prospect"? Why would he not take team 1's deal over this??

Grier is so bad at this.

Were we just spoiled to have DW all these years? Because it just feels lame to keep being on the losing end of trades like this...

Did you honestly look at the initial return and think “hmmm… I think the sharks need to add more here”?

It was already an underwhelming return, and then the sharks have added more!
I did because I am smart and knew that we were over the max number of contracts.

The Sharks added contract fodder to balance that stuff out. They didn’t add value.

I'm assuming "top prospect" was that individual team's best prospect. As a Sharks fan you should know that your team's top prospect can be not very good.

What team's top prospect are this poor?

Even the Sharks have Eklund.

I can't imagine Zetterlund or Mukhamadullin would be considered in any teams top 2 or 3 prospects, no?

Unless the reporting is inaccurate, Grier got hosed. (again)

SO do we want NJ eliminated in the first round, or to make it to the ECF? In the perfect world they lose in the first round this year but advance next year, but what am I cheering for this year?

Outside fan but I think the Sharks pulled a great deal

This is similar to the Karlsson to the sens deal where the Sharks paid Norris + 2 1sts + Demelo as the main pieces

Looked poor at the time for the level of Player EK65 was but the sens got a core piece in Norris

I see zetterlund being a 60+ pt player moving forward. He's a very good piece to add to the team and serve as a top 6 pMlayer

Shakir M. is a good get. He's got top pairing potential but isn't likely to hit it. I think he should be a similar player lilijgren is on the leafs. A 25-30 pt good #3D in his prime

Then you get 1 guaranteed first in an extremely deep draft which can get another core supporting piece (top 6 player or top 4D)

You also get another 1st or 2nd depending on where the devils go in the playoffs. A bit of luck and the devils make the ECF this year, then injury woes in 2024 gets the Sharks a 11-20 range pick to add to the core support

The other defenseman is also not bad an B prospect which helps the Sharks whose propsect pool is finally beginning to churn up after 12+ years of contention post lockout

I think the Sharks are better off with this deal then they'd be if they got back

Hughes/Nemec/Holtz + 2nd + AJ

The Sharks would've had 1 blue chip prospect but the trade is cont8ngent on them reaching their ceiling. If the prospect doesn't get there or busts outright the whole value dies vs here there are potentially 5 NHL level value assets.

The Sharks avoid a Mark Stone to Vegas deal from the Sens. I think they made a great deal

Given Vegas’ top prospect was in fact worse, I can go ahead and dispute this post quite easily.

Make it this year and then bottom out and miss the playoffs next year because of poor goaltending.

The ideal scenario would be the Devils missing the playoffs this season, and then making the ECF next season.

I think so, because this years draft is much stronger than nexts.

I’m also not taking preseason rankings into play where Holtz is vastly overrated.

Kudos to NJD for building an elite prospect pool where their 3rd best D prospect is instantly our best by a wide margin.
Are you joking. Eklund and Bordeleau are miles ahead of Muhkh

Surprised that Hatakka went back. Isn't he in the same sphere as Mukhamadullin?
Grier/Quinn didnt like him and he wasnt around the team at all, so I think he never wouldve played here again.
