I'm actually shocked how management are all still employed, especially Keefe. This guy literally went from saying after winning game 5 "these performances won't matter if we don't close it out" to "they showed us a lot more respect in the handshake line than other years."

Then you have Shanny and Dubas starting the presser saying they wouldn't make excuses, and the entire presser is literally excuse after excuse.

How is it that all of a sudden you're seeing BS "analysis" everywhere along the lines of "look at this series in a vacuum and it's not that disappointing." This cuck behaviour in Toronto needs to end now. Delusionals need to remember that 2020 Columbus and 2021 Habs still happened.

This is the third year in a row now that I'm saying this at the end of a 1st round L: this core is cooked, there is no mix of supporting cast that will push them over the top. Dubas could literally put together a 2019 Tampa level 60+ win team and they would still lose in the first round to any opponent they face.

In 2020 I was told "bubble asterisk", and in 2021 I was told a mix of "no fans asterisk" and "Leafs don't choke 3-1 if JT is healthy." I wonder what all the delusionals are going to tell me this year?

Also re-signing Rielly to 7.5x8 will become a very hated contract in this city before the halfway point of the extension. Dubas actually gave 7.5M per to a PP merchant who needs a very specific type of D partner to not suck at even strength, and having him at the point on PP1 in the playoffs simply doesn't work anymore. You need a point shot on PP1 in the playoffs.

I’ve been thinking that you trade Nylander for. Number one goalie. The one idea that jumps out is Nylander for Gibson. Problem is you only save 800 K on the cap. We have a number one goalie but now need to find two top 6 wingers and some bottom 6 depth.

Does that trade off with a better goalie help? It might. If Gibson plays like he use to.

Trade Kerfoot and Holl and use the Money to Sign Campbell for 5 x 5 .... Gibson is 6.4 and trading Nylander for him is not an upgrade as you then have to fill Nylanders spot .... The team can live without Kerfoot and Holl .

I like kampf and Blackwell to be two of the solutions for the bottom 6, the rest needs to be heavier faster and meaner though. I think you can keep the three geezers around and call them up down on the roster as needed

I would like to see them go with a 4th line of holmberg- Kampf - Blackwell/UFA signing. We get a more offensive minded 3rd line.

Simmonds and Clifford are simply not NHL players anymore.

It's laughable how much better at hockey Tampa's 4th line was (minus Maroon, dude kind of sucks) compared to ours. Blackwell and Spezza were fine, but Spez should only be getting in 40 or so games a year.

I'd like to re sign Blackwell and try him on a speedy, pesky 3rd. Mik is gone, so put him on the 3rd line LW with a banger on the right side. Engvall can start on the 4th.

If Tavares and his line doesn’t have it going you can lean more on the third line. Ride the hot hand. 4th line comes in for defensive duties. Gives each line a role.

I love Spezza too but he slowed down a lot this year and the league has never been faster. I don’t think he has much left if anything, at least on ice.

I was thinking this too but his press conference made me think he would bring value on a minimum deal almost for his leadership alone. What can you really hope to get in terms of production from any veteran at $750,000?
