Flyers fans have a bad reputation and we're supposed to actually be rivals with but they've been respectful. Caps fans are a bunch of obnoxious losers. Thrashers fans were surprisingly obnoxious too in 07.

iirc, we were friendly with sens fans who were "just happy to be here" and that got ugly fast once the games started

I've never had issues with Flyers fans. Far and away the best relations with them versus any other rival team

Well when not playing against them or rooting for them to lose, the flyers are one of my favorite rivals...if that makes sense.

Also really hoping we get past the flyers and the BJs beat the pens. That would be a great series.

#hello #hai2u I'm new #bandwagonfan for #playoffs

Greetings fans of #nynewyorkrangers. On the #hcanes message board (where fans of the #hcanes make posts) we did a draft #draft for our fans to find teams to #cheerfor (#support #encourage #watch) for the hashtag#nhl #playoffs.

And I (along with this guy) were #lucky (good fortune) enough to get the NY New York Rangers.

We're looking #forward (ahead) to helping this team win the #nhlplayoffs and the #stanleycup :D

Just thought we'd #introduce (say hi, make known, appear) ourselves for what's hopefully a #long #cuprun

#becauseitsthecup

#cheers :)

WELCOME TO THE MADNESS!!!

I like you ;) although the other guy and "Rags GO BOOM"....not so sure about

Rags is rarely used as an insult, but by the same token fans of other teams don't seem to understand that some Rangers fans find it offensive. To me Ranger$ is way more offensive. That's something that Islanders and Devils fans made up during the dark ages because we spent a lot of money. Rags is just short for Rangers. People probably don't like it because a "rag" is not flattering. I seriously think non-Rangers fans think it's like "Pens".

I'll grant that some posters might not understand why calling us the rags is an insult, but it absolutely is. And no, it's not short for Rangers. It's a reference to being "on the rag." I'm sure you know what that means.

I never heard of it being a reference to that. It gets used so much it's probably people thinking it's the same as "Pens" and "Sens".

Well, I've been a Rangers fan for over 20 years, and have no problem with the word "Rags". I don't find it offensive at all.

It's a reference to instruments used during menstruation.

Yeah this is what most WC fans do. The only fanbases that use it as an insult are our rivals. Whenever it's brought up on the main board people are always surprised its viewed as an insult and not just a quick way to refer to the team like NYR.

Probably because "Rags" sounds like a diminutive of "Rangers".

Snow blind, I usually find myself in agreement with you, however; I absolutely disagree with you this time. "Rags" is not short for "Rangers": it is not akin to "Pens" or " Sens". "rags" regardless of the context, always has a negative connotation.

I always thought of the insult to be more related to like a rag you clean **** with. Interesting.

So do most people, honestly. The actual intent used behind the phrase totally varies from innocuous abbreviation, through pejorative, to flat out sexist and offensive.

And it's almost impossible to tell which on a case by case basis.

Maybe it's because I'm a female and have only ever heard males refer to them as "rags". But if it is an insult that's just not offensive at all. Like calling the devils the debbies. That's the best you have?

I mean you have to answer the other teams physical game at times. This is hockey. Do I want them to get into an all-out physical battle? Of course not. That's not their game. But they should be able to deliver some physical play as well.

Eh, dressing Dorsett allows for Boyle to play LW. He is a better LWer

That really has to be the answer in WHY Dorsett has been getting as much playing time as he is. The difference in Boyle's effectiveness is LARGER than Carcillo being BETTER than Dorsett.

Because imho, Carcillo has more skills. And yet, I DO love Dorsett and all he does.

And its got to be Moore over Diaz, for the same reason. He's lefty that will compliment Klein on the left. Simple as that. Again, although I DO love Diaz' game.

btw, Moore has really been VERY GOOD since he's been back. More decisive and more accurate on his shots. Just saying. He's starting to become a weapon with his hard shot.
