I was very calm about the Avs loss. It was the Ottawa loss.

It was both. Why don't we wait until we actually hear something before declaring the seasons over. Just like it was after those back to back losses, right?

Cortisone won't heal it though. Isn't there a limit on how often you can take those as well? Or am I thinking of something else?

Yes. I am limited to 4 shots a year and insurance only covers 2. I'm also not a pro athlete and in the type of shape as Brassard. I hate speculating because for all we know he had diarrhea! Lol

Asked if Brassard would be available for Game 1 AV said "i would say yes"

I retract another "season over"

If the Rangers have him take an Mri and its clean they could give him a cortisone shot today. It would be pain free by thursday night. Not that a players doesn't risk further injury but he won't feel pain in the area. I have a terrible back and one thing I know about is cortisone shots!

At least you have the Yankees. Mets, Jets and Rangers ruin my outlook on life.

edit: I dont' know why I quoted this post and not the original

Guys, in case you're wondering, a Flyers fan just told me that the only reason they are the most penalized team in the league is because they wear black jerseys.

Yes, you are right about the Yankees. Just remember when I was a kid the Yankees were terrible and the Mets were the team in New York.

Anyway, good to see Brassard should play Thursday night. I just hope AV is being honest. It's that time of year when a coach is expected to lie to the media about injuries.

Interesting theory. I personally feel it's because they are in their own zone most of the time and play a bunch of thugs and defensemen who can't keep up

I'm assuming this is over in the main land?
I applaud you guys who venture over there. I can't hack it, it's like trying to talk to angry teenagers.

I wouldn't mess with the Boyle-Moore-Dorsett combo!!

I feel like Dorsett is on the verge of really getting his game back together. His speed is picking up and his hands are getting there too. Remember this dud e was on the shlef for a while. Its not easy getting back to NHL speed, especially with 4th line minutes. The guy can play a very physical game. Looking forward to seeing it.

That line could so some damage on the scoresheet as well. I absolutely LOVED watching Dom Moore play in the playoffs before he came back to the Rangers. I couldnt understand why he was being bounced from team to team. His game combined with how Boyle gets up for these games could be a huge advantage.

Look out for this line. I think AV should roll it like he has been.

Dont know why but i could see the Rangers losing Game 1 and then ripping off four straight.
That's what they did in the first two series in 1997.

Then they lost Game 1 against Philly, won Game 2, and 10 year old me detected a pattern. But then the Flyers won three straight. :(

Already detecting trends at 10. Great things were on their way. ;)

As far as who replaces Kreider. I have to think about it.

I like the balance that Fast provides the team with another righty in the lineup, but im also a fan of Millers and his work on the boards - either way i like a rookie on the squad in the playoffs. Something about that youth, especially up front makes an intangible difference in the playoffs. May come down to who AV trusts more defensively and im guessing its Fast.

But then again theres a case to be made for Carcillo. I was perturbed when they signed him because of his reputation as a dirty player. But hes been a good citizen and he has playoff experience. Im just not sure hell be able to keep his head in the playoffs. Weve seen the Rangers get burned with suspensions in the postseason, and while its not a huge loss if he goes down, he still is capable of doing something stupid at the wrong time. You know this board would turn on him in a second and its not too far fetched he does something idiotic out there.

It's actually not that bad this year. I think it's probably because 90% of the flyer fan base knows we have owned them over the past 3 seasons. The only guy that's really bothered me so far was a "doctor" who claims McD has a separated shoulder and will not be healthy enough to shutdown Giroux. Other than that it hasn't been as bad as it has over the past few years. It's not like the caps fan base who feels like the rangers are an ECHL team

pretty much exactly how i feel.

game 1 at home is probably the hardest game to win.... i have no numbers to back that up, but it always seems like the home team plays like crap.

I would add game 1 in an opening series. I think teams after the first series tend to hit their stride but starting off the playoffs is always interesting.

I remember in 1994, I was worried about the Islanders. A rivalry series that could turn at any point. Of course, it was great to have two blowout victories at home that set the tone for the rest of the series.

Maybe this year's team can replicate the 1994 start to the playoffs...;)

Flyers fans have a bad reputation and we're supposed to actually be rivals with but they've been respectful. Caps fans are a bunch of obnoxious losers. Thrashers fans were surprisingly obnoxious too in 07.
