so, what are the lines tonight?

I'm expecting same as last game:

Kreider-Stepan-Fast
Nash-Brass-MSL
Hagelin-Hayes-Miller
Glass-Moore-Sheppard...

I'd like to see:
Kreider-Stepan-Miller
Nash-Brass-Fast
Hagelin-Hayes-MSL
Glass-Moore-Sheppard

Double Shift Moore, Hagelin, and Nash the entire 3rd period, bench the 4th line. Gut out a win and bring it to washington. Let the demons do their work

Same lines, just slightly different D pairs.

Hopefully AV included that bit of information in one of his pep talks today.

This is literally the most frustrating thing about the Rangers. They are, or seem, so concerned with playing an ultra-clean sterilized game, completely within the rules as they are written. Just once I want to see them take liberties on people along the boards, in front of the net, after whistles. They may go in to the dirty areas, but most of the time they don't get too dirty. In so many other games I catch, all I see are people getting beyond abused along the boards with some brutal shoves and checks to the opposing player's back..I can't remember seeing the Rangers do this too often. Subscribe to the Babcock School of Legal Interference. Everyone else does it, why haven't the Rangers caught on and done the same?

Last game Nash had a borderline check to the back (definitely called during RS), Hagelin broke Kuznetzov stick in the front of a goal, another Cap forward was interfered in front of the Rangers net as he was checked to the back while the pack was by the boards behind the net. These were just the most easily identifiable egregious penalties that were not called against the Rangers.

Another issue is that the Caps are much less scared of the Rangers' PP than vice versa.

AV has Moore at 3c, Hayes at 3RW and Miller as 4RW. Truly baffling decisions for a team that can't score.

Thats what I thought...

I think the biggest problem is not our defense as a whole, but AV and Ulfie are forced to constantly change pairings...

Last year, it was out of the question that anyone would be split up except for John Moore.

This year, we've seen just about every ****ing possible pairing for these guys:

I've seen, at some point in JUST the playoffs:

Staal-Girardi
McDOnagh-Girardi
Staal-Yandle
Staal-Boyle
Yandle-Boyle
Yandle-Klein
Boyle-Klein

I mean... ****ing AV... pick the pairings and STICK with them

AV has been shuffling the D pairs like crazy since Klein came back. I think there were at least 5 different D pair combos tried in the last 2 minutes of Game 1 alone. This system relies heavily on communication between defensive partners and it helps to be paired with a familiar partner. AV and Ulfie may have outsmarted themselves with all the tinkering.

Now just in case we lose tonight

1. Don't hang yourself
2. Don't blame your girl
3. Don't throw your tv out the window

It's just a game...

Respectfully disagree with this one. If she's new, there's a very good chance she screwed up lucky underwear protocol.

im actually pretty calm about tonights game. dont know why.

had this same feeling against PIT last year when we were down. maybe its because ive accepted that its been a good run, but its over.

maybe its because i feel like this team has what it takes to make it out of this slump and it ends tonight.

either way, ill be watching. lets ****ing do this, boys!!!

Hahaha it's funny how adamant/angry people get with you when you say that line and they don't know it. Even better try arguing with someone it was really the German's just to mess with them, while half the room is lol'ing.

Anyway, I have a great feeling about tonight.

I feel the same. I've got an eerie calm about tonight and I'm not sure what that means. Hoping it means I'm super confident about tonight and not just accepted that this wonderful season is all but over.

I still believe in this team and think we can come back from the brink.
