I'm going to go with a contrary opinion and bet it was Stan Fischler.
Funny, I was thinking the same thing.

It's a Boston writer in my books. Like the poster above said, pasta got a first place votw. He Wil get shamed all over twitter when that list comes out
Not just the fact that perhaps Pasta got the nod, but the fact that 3 other guys finished ahead of him in that individual's little mind.

Haggerty flat out denied it on his twitter.
I bet it was that senile jackass Stan Fischler out of New York aka the f***er who thinks Connor is Connor 'McSelfish.'

lol, that would be next level petty if it was Fischier. He has a grudge dating back to Gretzky's oilers ending the Islanders dynasty. Guy will one day be on his death bed and his last words to family will be some comment bashing the Oilers.

Bahhahaha,,,,you and I are asking for it here. Troll Stomper mod is gonna get us.
Lmao I’m surprised it hasn’t happened yet LOL!!!

Was the troll who voted for Pasta the same person who asked McDavid about Pasta?
This goes to the troll who voted for Pasta. It’s always best to be positive to mentally ill people

So a majority of them Boston chapter members denying. I think only Fluto hasn't responded to BlueBullets thread lol

Though like most speculate, maybe its Fischler after all. I guess we'll find out around noonish? Thats when they posted the ballots iirc

some butt-hurt reporter Seth Rorabaugh from Pittsburgh voted McDavid 5th for MVP..

maybe he's bitter McDavid is eclipsing Crosby in awards

Clearly, one of these guys that think they are the smartest one in the room, when it's painfully obvious that he is the kid that sits in the corner and takes the short bus home.

What can be done about this? I mean if you trade mcdavid for a 5th round pick you'd be fired as a gm and never work again.

Is there no repercussion for making such a bad decision? How can this guy ever be asked "his opinion" on voting again?

Look at his ballot from last year. Clearly hates McDavid.

Seth Rorabaugh of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review submitted the following ballot for the Hart Memorial Trophy:

1. Pastrnak
2. Robertson
3. Sorokin
4. Tkachuk
5. McDavid

I bet he posts on Hf.

He definitely has... interesting choices. His Hart voting (provided by the PHWA since 2017-18):

2018:
1) William Karlsson
2) Nathan MacKinnon
3) Anze Kopitar
4) Taylor Hall
5) Blake Wheeler

2019:
1) Johnny Gaudreau
2) Nikita Kucherov
3) Brad Marchand
4) Marc-Andre Fleury
5) Sebastian Aho

2020:
1) Nathan MacKinnon
2) Connor Hellebuyck
3) John Carlson
4) Leon Draisaitl
5) Artemi Panarin

2021:
1) Connor McDavid
2) Sidney Crosby
3) Johnathan Huberdeau
4) Mark Stone
5) Patrick Kane

2022:
1) Kirill Kaprizov
2) Roman Josi
3) Igor Shesterkin
4) Jonathan Huberdeau
5) J.T. Miller

It also turns out that he was the lone writer to vote for Crosby for 1st All-Star Team over McDavid in 2020-21 (McDavid 105 points and +21, Crosby 62 points and +8). Given that he had McDavid over Crosby in his Hart voting, he probably messed up one of the two. (Given his past selections, I'm not sure which one.)

That being said, it seems most likely that he's someone who developed a "revolutionary" player assessment system (akin to that guy on Twitter who insisted that Nichushkin was better than Draisaitl). To use another example, as much as we as a fanbase like giving Matthews the gears, I'm pretty certain that Matthews was a top-5 most valuable player to his team at least once in the last 6 years.

Derek Van Diest from the Sun/Journal is the only one I've seen that is actually defending this clowns decision.

Has anyone even noticed the resemblance between the 1970s/80s' California kidnap victim Steven Stayner and Connor McDavid?

I find it slightly disturbing.

I can guarantee McDavid is going to be in the selke conversation this year. He can do whatever he feels like doing. Expect +60 and above and ridiculous penalty killing metrics. One if the top faceoff guys and takeaways. Quote me
