He does all these things at top speed and always has his head up. It’s why he’s basically never really taken an open ice hit in the process. Most players have to take the split second to look down at the puck when making plays.
It’s surreal to think about, how he always has his head up and his processor working at that speed to pick apart teams.
His hands are faster than yours, his feet are faster than yours, and his brain is faster than yours. When they’re all working at the same speed, there’s literally nothing you can do.
Definitely a treat for us fans of the game to watch this kind of talent night in and night out.

We truly are spoiled to have McDavid and Draisaitl on our team. I remember watching Crosby and Malkin and being so envious and jealous of the Penguins and now we have a duo that is even better. Hopefully the winning and Cup comes soon and they both extend to stay in Edmonton

How can Connor skate the way he does? If you were to articulate why exactly he's so much faster than anyone else, how would you describe it?

He hasn't had much of a surge it what feels like ages and he's still on pace. He's due for a run.

His pace has been pretty remarkable even for his standards. Hope he makes it to 150.

The best measuring stick for McDavid is himself, from 2020-21, where he hit 100 points in 53 games. In order to keep pace for 150, McDavid needs 100 in 54.
The schedule is also prime for him to pad his stats against weaker competition if the Oilers dont play down to their opponents.
Ovechkin and Kucherov both touched on something that really does set McDavid apart, it's that he's at the top every single year. His consistency is unreal. Yeah, exactly. Every year we have some random rube like Gaudreau or Huberdeau that has a remarkable year, but then comes back to earth soon after.
McDavid is a hot streaky season that never ends.

Perfect cuts in the ice, superb balance from what Ive understand is a part of great skating. He also always maintaining speed in edges and dieectipn shifts. But still is unbelivable. Its only fedorov that Ive seen that skates as smooth but fast as well. But he was mot as fast as McDavid.
