Such a famous image.. but it's kind of ridiculous.

Ever seen another 6'6" guy able to jump that high? While able to do like several pump fakes with the ball in 1 hand, outwait everyone in the air to fall down, then twist and change directions mid air like a video game double jump?

Like i said before..watching him live was like watching bad CGI.
I love that I can catch old stuff on Youtube because I only really watched the 90s (and post retirement to boot) so 90% of my exposure is when he had evolved into that low post game to conserve energy as he could typically elevate for a good shot.

It's shocking to see how fast and explosive he was in some of those 80s and early 90s games before he hit 30.

McDavid struggling to score these days, but I still think he has a very good chance to get to 50 goals this year, which would be awesome and smash his existing mark.:sarcasm:

I wanted to at least get 61 but I think he ends up with 52.
It looked pretty promising a few weeks ago, but he's really slowed down. Of course, it's McDavid, and he could explode at any time, but it really looks like 50 might be a chore at this point. Hope he can get hot again. His latest trend of circling around the net multiple times and then losing the puck gets me dizzy and reminds me of Hemsky.

There’s 25 game left. He’s still going to get well over 50. You think he’s going to struggle to score 8 more. Goals this year? Come on.

This dry spell won’t last long. Next time he has a big game he’s gonna get a hatty, just wait for it

Before his 2 goals last night McDavid was in the coldest goal scoring stretch of his season, having not scored in 4 straight games for the first time this season and only scoring 1 goal in 7 games since the all-star break.

Prior to that his coldest stretches were:
- 1 goal in 4 games from Dec. 31 - Jan. 7
- 1 goal in 6 games from Nov. 12 - 26
- 1 goal in 5 games from Oct. 18 - 26

Also, if you want a hot tip on a good bet, the game after scoring multiple goals this season McDavid has scored the following game 5/6 times this year. Hopefully that happens and McDavid goes on a goal scoring tear now. FWIW though, McDavid didn't record a point against Pittsburgh earlier this year but did have 1G + 3A in both games against the Pens last year.

It's even more ridiculous when you realize all the guys around him were high scoring 80s/early 90s guys. Also Gretzky 22 years old 800 points what the actual f***.
No defense and goalies are 1/3 the size of the net

McDavid would put 400 points a season in the 80s

Does he get to 1000 before the end of next year?

He's at 802 points after last night with 24 games left this year. If he plays all of the remaing games and all 82 next year that would be 106 games to get 198 points.

If he plays all the games he would have to score at a 1.87 pt/gm clip to reach 1000 by end of next year. He's scoring 1.81 pt/gm this year.

It's doable, but it would really be extraordinary if he actually did it. If he did it, he would reach 1000 in 651 GP which would be 3rd fastest just ahead of Mike Bossy who hit 1000 in game 656 of his career (Gretz at no. 1 in 424 GP, Lemieux no. 2 in 513 GP).

He would be 27 + 3 months old roughly. Gretzky wasn't quite 24, Lemieux was 26 and a half, and Bossy had just turned 29. Yzerman and Hawerchuk both hit 1000 before turning 28 as well.
