My backhanded comment is that the team must have talked about backhanding a bit. Just getting pucks at net in tight. Both Pods goal and Brown winning goal coming on simple backhands. Was Arvids? I'd have to review that one.
Unlikely scorers tonight and we needed it but McDavid was all over those making those plays go.
STL kinda suck against us. Debrusk said it would be a good series but I don't think it would be more than 4-5 games. Blues can't contain the guns we have and have lost every game against us. Bad matchup for them.

McDavid isn't 100% yet for sure. He got the job done without going into tough areas tonight. McD @ 75% > Nuge at 100%

Props to the D for a pretty sound game, especially considering there was only 5 of them
I be liked that answer. Not just a cliche, typical answer. He figured, since there was an open spot in the roster he may as well try it out and see how he felt after a couple shifts. Could always shut it down and no harm done.
He looked the best he’s looked in a long while. Had some good jump and a spring in his step.

So if RNH was good to go we lose this game. What strange blessings. McDavid made our goals happen tonight. Huge game for him and also hitting a post and missing another chance. But he played a pretty intelligent game after the Blues first goal.
Just side comment because the broadcast is dumb as hammers. Blues were complaining about Nurse tripping Walker on the breakaway. Thats what they were upset with. I thought it was a good play by Nurse but seen those called either way.

The Oilers are just more exciting to watch when McDavid and Draisaitl are playing. You always have the chance that they'll create a scoring chance out of nowhere, and that's what happened tonight for the game winner.

Yeah. Every one of them. Stecher too. I thought even Kulak was OK tonight. Its more remarkable because the one thing the Blues do well is challenge defenders through zone entries or forecheck.
God damnit Oilers, you got me believing a bit again….here we go again.

I hate the flames but blues missing the playoffs because of the loss tonight would feel 100x better. Blues have 2 games left and I hope they lose out.
Gonna be LA f***ing Kings for the fourth year in the row. If the Oilers win again, I think most of that team will just quit hockey.

Mc-D stepped back in tonight because he knew that the Oilers were quite capable of losing the last 5 games.
He wasn't going to let the playoff chances start slipping away. If he was only 90% tonight then I am really looking forward to 100%.

Better than it hitting in the 2nd round like it did last year. Hopefully, at least. Concerning amount of health issues for this team for basically the calendar year so far, though. We know they already had to deal with this before 4N. Equipment guys need to invest in some disinfecting wipes or guys need to learn to wash their hands or something.

tbh I'd rather the Flames miss playoffs again than the Blues. ABC runs strong in this province.
No kidding, I couldn't believe Louie wasnt calling for a trip tbh. They might have had a case too, but the stripes probably figured the McD call was already a cheeky one so let Nurse slide and next thing you know, Connor Brown is winning the game.

Lots of measles outbreaks here in Calgary too. It's interesting how we think that stuff like this is eradicated only to have it reappear. It might spread thru the whole league by the 2nd round of the playoffs. So many X-factors can come into play in pursuit of the holy grail.
