Post-Game Talk: McDavid took that personally

Didn't see the whole game. Was Walman declared out or did he leave with an injury? 3 guys playing almost 30 minutes is insane

Also despite the fact it’s the Flames it’d be hilarious if the Blues lost their last two and the Flames snuck in at their expense.

I mean one guy is playing and playing great, the other guy is hurt and was pretty brutal before that. As sad as you will be, the team is better served with Calvin Pickard as game 1 starter. If they're serious about trying to win, Pickard gets game 1.
ya let’s not play the hot goalie and go with 1 who sucked for 2 months straight then went down with a concussion.

True Grit
Captain back and drives the W. Connor Brown with the ... finish?! Podkolzen a heavy forecheck game. Props to a shorthanded d-corp with notice to Kulak who was excellent. Nurse really good too. Bouchard largely good. Pickard was solid, not necessarily great, but got the job done again.

I don't like to whine about reffing. But that first Blues goal came after a face-off punch to Skinner's head followed by a hold on the player's back check. Didn't like the shorty or sleepy third period start where they get burned thirty seconds in. Blues top line a handful.

Big win. Statement made. Grit and character on display - vital attributes for playoff hockey.

Most impressive thing to me about this game was how well everybody not named McDavid played tonight. These are the guys that have struggled all year and made playoff success look unlikely. It was encouraging to see so many wake up, look like they have a pulse and contribute in some way. Not all but many.

McDavid and Draisatl are going to play well in the playoffs. It’s the other guys that the team needs to step up. Tonight was an encouraging game.

He’s good. But to me he’s not a game breaker. He’s 25 and getting close to prime years.

Not knocking him to me he’s nowhere near superstar status.

Blues have a bunch of good players but zero gamebreakers to my eye
Same thing people said about them the year they won the Cup.

Pacing for 95pts, most in the league since 4N break, good defensively and PK's. Thomas is pretty damn elite.

Brown 1 goal in his last 14.... and gets 2 tonight.

The McDavid effect obviously.

Oilers don't win this without McDavid back... and I hope to hell he can stay healthy.

Once Drai, Ekholm and the rest of the infirmary get back... this team has a legit shot to make a lot of noise in the playoffs but man do they ever need to have all guns going.
