What a bum. He wasted the first 17 years of his life.1000 points at 27 = 2000 points at 54
Could have been third behind only Gretzky & Lemieux if he didn’t have a slow start to the season.
Yup. He has looked "normal" the past 2 games. Speed, etc. He looked like a whatever player the first 10-12 gamesCould have been third behind only Gretzky & Lemieux if he didn’t have a slow start to the season.
Incredible achievement. Other active players that did it under 1000 games for comparison : Crosby (757 gp), Malkin (848), Ovechkin (880), Stamkos (945), Kane (953). Hundreds of games quicker than some all time greats really is eye popping.
Funny enough I've never seen his dad wear anything oilers ever lolProud dad there
I was putting context to the original statement.
Dionne did win awards. At the end of the day--a complete career will be judged by if a player wins the holy grail. If he does not win it-his career will be considered a failure by some
1974-75 NHL Lady Byng Memorial Trophy 1976-77 NHL Lady Byng Memorial Trophy 1978-79 NHL Lester B. Pearson Trophy 1979-80 NHL Art Ross Trophy 1979-80 NHL Lester B. Pearson Trophy

Piping hot take, my dude.27 years old seems late into someone's career. Bedard will hit 1000pts by 25 years old.
What’s his ceiling if he never wins a cup?
Numbers are from @Vujtek in this thread:Likely owns third from here on out. Bossy hit 1100 in 725 games, didn’t play long enough to make 1200, and I believe Esposito sits third at 1200 in 872 games.
I was thinking that while watching the game yesterday. He should have worn a Jofa for tonights game.
Bananas. That's just over 5 seasons. This kind of reminded me again how Probably the most untouchable stat Wayne has that will never be broken. 1000 in 424 games is insanity lol.

(Note - the thread I'm quoting is several years old, so it doesn't reflect Crosby and Ovechkin. But none of that affects McDavid's trajectory here).
Assuming he stays healthy, where will McDavid end up on these lists? Let's assume it takes him 60 games to score his next 300 points, then he slows down to 75 games for 400 and 500.
That would get him to 719, 779, 839, 914 and 989. Which would result in him ranking 3rd (behind Gretzky and Lemieux) for all five milestones.
Obviously this is contingent on McDavid remaining healthy (and motivated). I also think there's a non-trivial chance that McDavid becomes the first player (after Gretzky of course) to reach 2,000 points.
Could have been second if he didn't have a slow start to his career....lazy bum.Could have been third behind only Gretzky & Lemieux if he didn’t have a slow start to the season.
This kind of reminded me again how Probably the most untouchable stat Wayne has that will never be broken. 1000 in 424 games is insanity lol.
Funny enough I think he wears same thing every gameFunny enough I've never seen his dad wear anything oilers ever lol
I saw that stat again today and still can’t believe itEqually as mind bending is how he basically didn’t miss a beat rolling through 1000 to 2000.
433 games for that run.
Overall, his shortest run between milestones was the 33 games it took him to go from 800 to 900, a staggering 3.03 PPG.
