Incredible achievement. Other active players that did it under 1000 games for comparison : Crosby (757 gp), Malkin (848), Ovechkin (880), Stamkos (945), Kane (953). Hundreds of games quicker than some all time greats really is eye popping.

McDavid hit 500 points in 369 games, same exact number as Crosby. His second 500 he got in 290 games, where it took Crosby 388 games. Crosby's splits aren't that different for either 500, but it looks like McDavid hit another level post covid break.

Dionne did win awards. At the end of the day--a complete career will be judged by if a player wins the holy grail. If he does not win it-his career will be considered a failure by some
