McDavid heating up, what are odds on 150 points this season?

Probably about a 1 in 5 chance, as @Hockey Outsider said (above).

The one thing that might be in McDavid's favor this season is that the Oilers have seemingly already had their mid-season slump --- it came early, from games 11 through 20. If there are no massive slumps the rest of the way, McDavid may be able to maintain this pace longer. The Oilers have also had a really tough schedule early this season. Seemingly, they and Calgary have had the hardest opponents / schedule thus far. So, if the worst is over, maybe he has a 20% chance.

I'll say one thing this is will be the highest scoring season since the 90s and this trend should continue in future years. he will have chances at 130 for sure. being a ppg today isn't that impressive as it was 10 years ago

i am a matematic freak when having av few beers and the % is 22% chance to hit 150p 43 % to hit 140 and 64% to hit 130p so the conclusion is that he is going to score between 130 and 140p

The Oilers have a pretty favorable schedule in Dec/Jan (when he typically slows down) compared to the competition and travel in the first two months. 50 goals, 100 assists.......I don't know, but he is capable.

150 point regular season and Jack Campbell in net for the playoffs. Do the math.
He won't sniff the net in the playoffs if he keeps this up, hell he's not even getting the game vs the Caps tonight. Oilers would sooner tell Smith to prepare and suit up for the playoffs (LTIR) and be Skinner's backup lol

49th point now in his 27th game and plenty of game left. If he makes it to 50 tonight, will it be in fewest games since Mario or did someone else do it more recently?

iirc Mcdavid had 50 points in 29 games last season

Crosby hit it in 31 in 2010-11.

Both McDavid and Draisailt hit it in 30 last year.

McDavid hit it in 29 games in 2020-21.

Lemieux did it in 18 games in 95-96.

People were going crazy over it last year and he didn't even come close.

Could he hypothetically hit 150 in an absolute perfect storm of a season? Higher scoring league, so I think there's a small chance. But i'd say ~5% chance, so I doubt it happens. I could see him hit 130 though

If you add the shortened season to the beginning of last season he had something like 152 points in 82 games. I think he probably puts up 140 this year.

He was also relatively snake bitten last year vs his normal stats and still almost put up almost 130. If he can avoid the McFlu it's definitely possible.

Up to 52 points in 27 games. Has 16 points in his last 6. Leads the league in goals, assists, and points. Has a point in 23 out of 27 games so far this season.

Yeah, still on track for 60-70 goals/140-150 points with 1/3 of the season completed.

Guess 2020-2021 wasn’t the fluke some jokers around here think it was.

Bonus: 51 more points this season brings him to 800 through 8 seasons. The guy will have an average of 100+ points per season despite missing nearly half his rookie campaign and 37 games wiped off the schedule from COVID.
