97 got away with a ton in the past. Best player in the league and a generational talent but McDavid’s history is nasty.

The difference between Davo’s and Matthews was I think Matthew’s rode up and he was exchanging blows with Dahlin, whereas Davo was straight to the head. Slightly worse than Matthews.

Respect for this post and I’m glad you brought up Lemieux. Dumbest league in sports and it appears little has changed since Mario got mauled on a nightly basis. Feels like a 1-2 game suspension on precedence. Meanwhile a headshot is anywhere from 0-2 games typically (should be more).

Like yeah, he's an incredible player, and I have (like most people) a generally positive view of every star player in the league because they're good at hockey. But the amount of dirty nonsense, hiding behind refs, etc. is pathetic. And this isn't just anti-Oilers bias as I really like watching Draisaitl (and hate seeing him score against us).

Generational talent, but terrible attitude and a bad temper. He has those hissy fits and is used to getting away with it. He is lucky it was only 3 games. Could have been more easily.
