Not that I expected a win.. But I'm kinda sad :D

Great game! Never thought that this German team could challenge Sweden.

And no one complaints. The players are skating around with frozen snot all over their face and everyone in the audience standing there like half drunk snowmen.

Thats it. I'm organizing a game this winter. I have to play this, haha.

GG to both clubs. Fun game.

No thanks!

Based on our history, I don't think you have to worry.

It's been kind of a theme for Team Germany to lose games against teams they could actually beat after playing really well against one of the top teams.

Why should this year be any different?

Unacceptable that is all I have to say I am ashamed

Good game, Sweden didn't look to interested though

Oh come on! Don't take that away from us! :D

It's like saying you guys just tied 4:4 after 4:0 in Football WC qualifiers just because Germany didn't thought that swedish nationals other than Zlatan could handle a ball :sarcasm:

tbh, Sweden surely wasn't on 100% today, but still, great game from both teams, unlucky ending for us :)

Except it was the worst effort I have seen from tre kronor in a long time

*cough* Torino *cough*

Yes? That's almost ten years ago in My book that's a long time. I know they went on to win the tournament that time but that team had everything it was the second best team sweden has ever iced so I was never really worried.

Worst part of Bandy is that only Sweden and Russia are the countries competitive at it.

I played Bandy in Norway and was not a superstar but pretty good. Moved to Sweden, played basically on the same level and was blown out of the water. It looked like I never touched a stick. It was very humiliating.

Come to Canada and be a superstar!

I texted 20-ish friends the last hour or so and not a person has even heard of the sport.

Bandy is basically just a hobby in Norway though, not nearly as professional as those countries, so its not weird at all. No inside-rinks, and few players. And yes I play:)

You have a point. I do think that excuse in many way shows a lack of respect. I do not think the swedish players preform a perfect game, but it is also a opponent, germany was good and in some degree made us look bad.

Hockey players and their muscles last 5 minutes on a bandy ice. Maybe guys like OEL would do ok, but then he's a young guy.

I have played both and bandy players is quite a bit faster. Hockey players might have some trouble with bandy skates and shooting. The goalie would most likely get lit up like mike smith in the first period against sweden.

The 5 min penalty was a ducks ng joke. Enroth sucked as usual. Forsberg lack of hockey iq showed as usual.
Germany's pp looked really good, was it because of sweden's ****** bp our is that good?
If it is that good how the hell have they only scored 5 goals?

You have it too. Kind of.

Hahaha. Not to disparage our National Team, but it looks like someone gave the local beer league team Bandy sticks and red jerseys and proclaimed them Team Canada

I'm only 27. Do they have stay at home D in this sport? Maybe I can still make it to the Olympics, hahaha.

Btw, when ice hockey just came to USSR, it wasn't very popular, unlike bandy (which was called Russian hockey here). So first Russian hockey players were actually bandy players. The only things they could do were skating and passing. They couldn't even lift the puck when shooting. And they managed to beat some Czech professional team in 1946.

It's because of bandy Soviet ice hockey was always about speed, good passing and skating.

Yeah this really explains the Swedish/Russian styles of play in hockey. So interesting.

Lots of Canadian hockey players talk about lacrosse as something that really influenced their stick handling and various other aspects of their game. Alex Burrows is a ball hockey legend (I believe he's in the HoF) and you can see it in his game sometimes.

The first Swedish hockey teams consisted of bandy players as well.
