If Boeser turn down, 5 year 8 M, meh dont want , imagine 35 years old Boeser with 8-9 M
Norris for Boeser as a rental is honestly better than Scott Laughton. It’s not like they have to re-sign him.Boeser would be terrible. He might give 1-2 good seasons but anchor after that. There's a reason why Van never offered over 5 years.
Rather line up the assets for Troy Terry or someone of that ilk.
I'd rather trade Norris for Scott Laughton than Boeser. Boeser will be an anchor AND he has injury history of his own, or else I would say give it a shot. No thanks.

None of those guys are coming here.I completely agree, as long as we don't sign him, and as long as we use the 8 million on something special like Ehlers or Nelson + something extra or Tavares (yes).
So we get Boeser that he’s free to go July 1stThat is a different scenario entirely. We moved the equivalent of a top 5 pick in value for Debrincat.
There is probably almost no market for Norris. Assuming we want to get out of the contract, somehow getting Boeser (rental) as the return for some sort of swap where we trade Norris for bad contracts from Vancouver is pretty solid. It would be as much about moving the liability of his contract to a different team as it would be about getting Boeser as a rental.
At this point, I am more worried about Giroux's deterioration than Norris' shoulder. Should be looking to fill his top 6 role long term as the priority and they really need a better fit with Stutzle and Tkachuk imo.
Valid point on the Sens need to find a better fit for the top 6, but Giroux is a safe bet for 40-50 points even if he declines more from this year. If we decrease his 18 minutes a game to 16, he's going to be fair value, but that's all predicated on Staios finding someone to push Giroux down the line up. Giroux is currently more productive than Norris and given Norris' injury troubles, they'll both be 50 point guys next year.At this point, I am more worried about Giroux's deterioration than Norris' shoulder. If we re-sign him it’s probably for 7.5 (almost Norris)
We get 36pts in 53G Vs 31 in 51
And we piss Brady
Ya, I really struggle with this one. I think he'll be kept, and he'll get more than 3, but he's just so miscast on a top line at this point.I agree.
Not a cent over 3 million for Giroux. Give him 2 million in performance bonuses.
Norris, Giroux, Perron, Batherson, Forsberg.
Staios has a significant next few months ahead of him.
I at least have confidence that Norris could trend up, or at least maintain, while Giroux will only go down, guaranteed by age. The goal should be him being outside of the top 6 starting next year.Valid point on the Sens need to find a better fit for the top 6, but Giroux is a safe bet for 40-50 points even if he declines more from this year. Even if one makes the argument that he's benefitting from getting prime time on a bad team, Donato has the most EV points out of everyone on the team. Even with a higher shooting percentage than career normal, he's still shooting below Bertuzzi and Teuvo, yet has more goals than both.Donato in Chicago is on fire right now. His price is going up by the day.

Batherson for Peterka + 2nd round pick.
Frees up cap space for the rest of the season. Gives us another asset to add Donato.
I'll never get the fascination with wanting to give up a ton of assets to get a mid player from a terrible franchise. What do they know about winning? A guy like Peterka is skilled enough to put up points in any top 6, but if he comes here do you honestly think that he just seamlessly plugs in? Or do you think that he will have to learn to play responsible winning hockey, which he's never done at any point in his career, and this causes his production to take a hit as he learns committment to defense?
I'm not opposed to trading a guy like Batherson, but does flipping him for a guy like Peterka really solve anything? Batherson has more points this year while on a team that's actually trying to play serious two-way hockey, not some tire fire garbage franchise like Buffalo where they stopped caring about playing the right way a long time ago.
I feel like a lot of people have Dorion syndrome where they want to make a trade for the excitement of making a trade and assuming that any skilled player outside of the Senators must be better than what we've got. If you're going to make a swap in your top 6 you need to be intelligent about it, and be patient and wait for the right opportunity to get the right player back. Not just grabbing a guy from a dog shit team because he played with Stützle when they were teenagers.
We'd be the one adding to get Peterka, not Buffalo.
I also don't see them being interested in a Batherson for Peterka swap.
They'd get the older and worse player going forward. Could basically be their version of Zibanejad+2nd for Brassard.
If we want Peterka in a Sens jersey I think they'd demand Pinto be involved.
