Seravelli was on CIH today, the gist was:

- Ottawa wants to move Norris, they’ve been trying. Seems like they would do it now. But cap hit and term is a deterrent for teams.

- Seems like Peterka is unhappy in Buffalo along with a lot of others. He thinks there will be a lot more offer sheets this summer so Buffalo might be pushed into trading him because he doesn’t have to sign his qualifying offer and can then just wait for one.

Is Seravelli an insider that has real sources? It's a question, as I don’t know. I seem to recall some negative comments in the past (perhaps in here).

There’s 2 steps to making the Senators better if they are contemplating moving Norris. The first is moving Norris. The 2nd step is replacing him with something better. Its the 2nd step that isn’t automatic & is harder to do. Of course, a big part of the motivation of moving Norris is his injury concerns. Norris has played 51 games this year, and could end up playing 74 games. Tarasenko also had 3 shoulder surgeries, had the same operation from the same surgeon 4 years ago, and hasn’t had any issues since.

Having said this, I’m fine with moving him, but as long it results in actual improvement. Dumping him is the easy part. These Rantanen pipe dreams, or for that matter Boeser aren’t getting it done imo.

It would be weird if Buffalo loses Peterka. He’s just the kind of player you’d think they’d want to keep. Anyhow, the gap between the have & have not teams seems to be growing.

He is. He gets some flack because he does get things wrong but he’s broken a ton of trades. He was first on the Rantanen trade if I recall but got some details wrong, so he might be too quick to report things sometimes without confirming but he’s as good a source as anyone outside of Friedman really.

I’m a huge Kleven fan, but maybe he could get us some help at forward? He’d probably have some decent value as a big/mobile defenceman. With our glut of LD it might be worth looking into.

There's been too much smoke around Norris I think at this point. Hasn't Garrioch referenced this numerous times this year too? Seems like there might be something to it.

i havent seen as many leaks come from this management group (actually any but i could be forgetting something).

I wouldnt be surprised if the team is trying to move norris but thats a logical suggestion. Wouldnt be surprised if thats what these reporters are doing
