Keep up with the solid defense of the last two matches, don't get stupid penalties (are the two minutes for too many men really that necessary? I know it is becoming a tradition, but whatever, I think I could do without) and everything will be fine.

Winning this means basically QF, so I hope that taking points from the Czechs, the swedes or the canadians will not be necessary.

After that everything will be about figuring out whether playing horribly but winning will still be possible against stronger teams.

After all the final two years ago was reached thanks to airtight defense and deadly breakaways.

Forward lines for the today's game:

Indrasis - Sprukts - Redlihs
Darzins - Dzerins - Daugavins
Bukarts - Abols - Cipulis
Skvorcovs - Berzins - Saulietis

Indrasis moved to the 1st line, Bukarts to the 3rd (:handclap:). Cipulis back from a minor injury.

No changes in the D pairings, as far as I know.

Overall this is a do-or-die game for Latvia. If Switzerland gets 2 or 3 points out of this, we won't make the QF.

You're laughing about a Swiss player? We're no friends anymore!

We will win this game! 4-1 for us. Welcome to the Josi show!

Latvia vs Switzerland previous WCh game record - 9 games played, only 1 GDS victory, 7 losses and 1 tie. Latvians has scored 16 goals but Swiss 29.

The Swiss are always one step ahead of us, one point from this game would be like victory...

Getting a point out of this game would be what is commonly known as a loss. Quite literally.

If we're talking about odds, the bookies say that the Swiss have a 74% chance of a win today. Sounds about right.

Have a feeling this will be an ugly game.
Like every game against Latvia.
Like every game in 2015...

Intuitively I feel that it's going to be ugly because of how lopsided it's going to be in your favor.

I just have no trust whatsoever in this new Latvian team. A part of me almost wishes we would finish 14th or something, so the head coach would get fired and we could start from scratch again.

Well, that is what I meant, cool cool.

Vladimir Shindler (?) will be as referee
Odds ar falling :handclap:

I hoped for lopsided games before every one of our first three, I gave it up by now :D
Could see another close win and could live with it.

Still 0 goals but the PP looks better. At least today they are shooting on goal. Ok, they could try to go for a rebound once in a while though..

Latvia extremly defensive, they wait with all 5 players in the middle-zone.

Pretty even game, chances on both sides
