Better team won. Embarassing reffing though. Where do they find these guys , hired from the local bar?

5 on 5 the teams were close, but on the PP the skill discrepancy showed itself. Well fought by Finland to even be in the finals. The winners in my eyes. Russians may enjoy their consolation prize after the flop in Sochi.

And here we are. I'd ask you before game what pathetic excuse Finns would be blabbering when they lose the game. Now I have the answer.

Most of us have been bashing the refs the whole tournament, no since as long as i can remember, even about games we won, for example the Czech game yesterday or the u-20 finals earlier this year. I'm not saying that these refs were biased, i'm not saying we would have won, what i, no we are trying to say that we seriously need professional refs in IIHF games, are these clowns seriously getting paid for this?

Also, this tournament once again proves why hockey needs goons.

Finns just cant win. They lack mental tougness!

Right, mental toughness

Take a look at the rosters for today bud.

It would have been a mega upset if team Finland would have won today.

Facts are:

A. The Finns didn't deserve to be in the playoffs to begin with.

B. The win against Canada was an outright crime in terms of puck luck.

I'm honestly amazed that this team actually outplayed Russia 5-on5 today.

Who knows what would have happened if the officials would have given them a fair shake and if the puck luck had been on our side today.

But kudos to team Russia for capitalizing on the powerplay. It's not your fault the ref's caved under pressure today and/or didn't have a set of eyes/balls to make the right calls.

Rinne got the MVP. Deservedly so. The backbone of Finland and the best goalie of the tournee, IMO. Although, Bob was pretty amazing too.

Bob is pretty much the only player on the Russian team that I respect. Great goalie and seems like a classy guy from what I know.

Not sure who else though. Maybe Zaripov? He seems to just go about his business and play hockey instead if engaging in all that drama theater.

Well done Russia. Davai Rossia !!

Well fought for Finland.

And if refering was good all the line, Finland wouldn't be in QF because Switzerland lost 3 points against the US fully thanks to wrong refering (2 canceled goals that were 100% right) ... in other words you wouldn't be in QF.

But no misunderstanding ... well done Finland, you did amazing with the team you had. respect.

lmao at Russia celebrating like they won Olympic gold.

Anyone else see the finnish player stare down the guy giving him the medal?

What was going on there?!

Just think, Finland roster had 15 first timers. performance by the Finns. Russians were better, I admit that. Although I hate all the diving and theatre - they are lacking dignity.
One thing IIHF must take into consideration is the referees. They were far from the professional level it should be in world champs.

Congratz to Russia with Ovechkin and Malkin are their team you knew they would most likely win.

Also to Finland, I don't know many of the players but still did very well.

Ok...

Russia was the best team, nothing to say about that. I still think that in this game, we really had a chance before the refs blew it. Russians dove all over the place and with the talent they have, they capitalized. 5on5 they didn`t really have too much to say. I have been against NHL-refs in IIHF tournaments earlier, but I have changed my mind. In Sotchi the reffing was better than ever. The NHL refs are not the same they were 10 years ago. now they are true professionals. Hope we dont see refs like this anymore.

And they got to face Czech Republic in the semis instead of the U.S due to a stupid game misconduct by Abdelkader :)
