Please. Did you even watch the games? Rinne was the only reason why we had change to win the games. Our powerplay has been totally shaitt.. Even strenght changes we didnt create at all. Maybe 2 or 3 semi changes to score each game.

Well, sorry, I did watch this game and it actually reminded me of the WJC final - lots of skating in the corners and, yeah, it looked scary, but 5 on 5 mostly wasn't. Rinne even conceded one relatively weak goal. We were simply the better team in this game and we deserved to win. How difficult can this be for us Finns to understand that the actual results actually matter and that, in this game, the whole team was really much much better than earlier moreover against greatly better team on paper. A great and fully deserved win. It's a scoring game, for God's sake.

Yeah we lost...lose in QF= not good enough..what's so funny. Having Ben Scrivens against Rinne is a huge disadvantage. We had a glorified back-up goalie going up against a top 5 NHL starter.

Might be time to get better coaching if you lose year after year in the same spot.

Some people might actually care though. You can't tell him he doesn't. There was a couple bummered looking Canadians at that game, they might care too.

Just not enough of these people. I think if Canada cared more then more stars would go to it. The timing is awful though, just don't see it happening unless they move the tourney to later in the summer.

No my point is, when someone says they don't care, don't come back with a post saying "Come on guysss, just admit you care"

It might be time to start taking this tournament more seriously. Our rosters lack big time the last 4-5 years. I'll say it for the 3rd time...Ben Scrivens (glorified back-up) against Rinne (top 5 goalie) that says it all right there. Scrivens let in 2 goals he should've had, just not good enough. We dominate in the Olympics but in this tournament we just don't bring teams good enough to get even to the Semi's And Tyler Myers should not be anywhere near a national team again. He is busting in front of everyone's eyes the past 2-3 years. What a bum

This game more than likely was the best game from Team Finland in this tournament. You should of watched the games against Latvia , Russia, Belarus and Switzerland. Absolutely terrible. Good thing we won now. Still amazing to me after seeing the earlier games that we won this game. Thats all.

The answers happen when there is topic full of Canadian posters even though they don't care, its not exactly believable.

That said, I do relize that Skoda Cup isn't big in Canada like it is here. The thing is, I don't care do you care, that's why I'm happy for the win.

Maybe. Im still going to say Canada losing this game was a massive surprise. Lots of NHL players.. we had what 3 or 4 from NHL? NHL players are not everything but you would think they are better than the SM Liiga players for example.

Wasn't good enough to beat a team full of Finnish league's All Stars? Yes it was, they just laid an egg once again.

Finnish league's All Stars (finnish) players were: Jussi Markkanen, Lasse Kukkonen, Ville Vahalahti, Teuvo Teräväinen and Michael Keränen.

None of them playes for this team. :sarcasm:

Lame duck Erkka proved me wrong.

If you ever wonder why Finland is always dangerous, you just look at this game.. we always get the absolutel most of our players. That defense is absolutely atrocious on paper and I cringed whenever I heard Ohtamaa or Kivistö had the puck.. the fourth line was filled with players I've never heard, and Erkka cut the few players off the team I was genuinely interested to see.. and this happens.

I'm not even happy yet.. just too shocked.

Sure the big dogs are missing from Canada at the wcs almost every year but thats no excuse, the roster is still full of quality NHL players and 20+ goal scorers. The competition isn't that fortunate.
Even the Finns do fine with a roster with way over half the players from their national league.

****, If you don't care just don't spend 7 pages posting about how much you don't care right after losing game.

I care, but I don't care anymore because of the last 5 seasons. I watch ever year, but I'm not posting or watching next year. No point. They start winning, I'll be back.

I mean COME ON, you finish first in your group every year and lose out to the Quarters. I have better things with my life to do in the summer, to devote to a bunch of players.

Maybe I sound bitter, and I'm not playing the game, but you know what, Imagine playing a hockey game with an empty arena. Players should care, because the fans are just as much as a driving force in their career.

Keep the discussion on topic: the game between Finland and Canada, and the final results. OT posts from this point on will be deleted. Thanks.

You are aware that most of our best players are currently playing in the NHL right?
Well relatively both national teams are missing equally important players... Mainly because those players don't care about this tournament. Filppula is our Crosby you know :yo:

Every year when we manage to play in SF. It is amazing feeling. Not as huge as when we play in olympic SF, but I am very happy.

Just enjoy your win. Are you going to start telling everyone how to react now? Give it a rest.

Honestly, congrats Finland for winning..THE TRUTH is no one from Sochi was on this team. Again I'll repeat, JAMES REIMER AND BEN SCRIVENS were our goalies, TYLER MYERS getting like top 4 mins...just not good enough. Why would anyone be mad??? The roster wasn't good enough.
As if we had our "top" NHL players show up?

Rinne, OJ and Haula (+Salomäki if you want to count in the AHL), vs. a full team of NHL players. I wonder which one is better, on paper that is.

Quite frankly, the results these recent Canadian WC teams have managed to do with a roster full of NHL talent, are somewhat bland.
