You should not be this cocky. Except the Olympics success, Canada has not won anything in 5 years (WJHC and WHC )

In fact, if not for the Olympics, Canada starts to forget what medals look like

Olympics are the cream of the crop. We clearly don't bring an elite team here, and world juniors we have had rough years but it would be different there I would assume as well if we could grab all our 18 year old NHLers EVERY year.

You just are upset Russia is terrible when it matters most.

Not surprising. Just as I predicted, North American teams are being punished for bringing pathetic rosters to the tournament. Bring your best available players and then we talk

I didn't check the stats but according to our announcer Mertsi this Team Canada still has 8 20+ NHL goal scorers. Finland as a country has 2, neither of whom are playing in the tournament...Canada was still WAY stronger on paper on every area except goaltending.

Great effort today by Finland, with this roster a a huge accomplishment :)

Rinne stole us this game. I really liked this Canada team, shame to see them go.

Well, again, yes, they had lots of puck possesion, lots of shots, but how many real great chances they had? How did they manage to concede 3 goals - I think Rinne had "some" help in winning this game...

Except for the #1 best on best tourney, we haven't had much success. good one.

Who cares LOL I'd take an Olympic gold over this tournament any day..it sucks we lost but no one is crying lol. Congrats to Finland, I knew we were going to lose this game. We just don't play well at this tournament at all.

Surprising. Finland has like five NHL caliber players and still they manage to find a way to win.

No, im upset Canada and USA keep bringing **** rosters to this tourneys and I'm glad to see them pathetically lose every year

I thought Canada played rather well to be honest

Finland was, as usual, very opportunistic and capitalized on mistakes

A shame but nothing to be ashamed of for Canada

They played solid team defence in front of Rinne who was solid in the 3rd where the vast majority of the play was in the Finnish zone.

You have to blame Scrivens (for that 2nd goal) and Myers (for the 3rd goal).

If not for Olympics? The whole reason these D-team tournaments are played really are for seedings and Olympic 2018 qualifers. Ask Spain and Brazil what was more important in 2009 and 2010... 100 out of 100 people would answer Spain's medal was more significant, and they would take 1 of those out of 100 of some small-time exhibition medal.

It's a depth Olympic pre-qualifying tournament and well, it's been clearly shown that Canada's C-level depth really isn't that great. Lots of talent that amounts to little in the actual game played. Put the best players together in a real, proper tournament and you'll see what basically happened in 2014- a steamroll through the final.

Russia can win a hundred of these and no one would really care until they start medaling at the real ice hockey event.

Congratulations to Finland for a game well played.

Wow. Shame on you, Canada. You lost to a bunch of scrubs. :shakehead Most of these players will never play for Finland again. not even in the WC.
