Exactly. All those rules snippets posted here are irrelevant because Koukal never established that position. He briefly crossed that area but was nowhere inside the crease when the shot was taken. The rule implies that the player must be in the crease when the shot was taken, not before it was taken. For that earlier supposed violation, the refs should have whistled the play dead before the shot was taken.

Doesn't matter how long he was there, there's zero tolerance for it. There were several instances where Barkov had one skate in the crease and the whistle blew.

But it wasn't, so play continued and Czechs scored a good goal. You can't retroactively make calls that should have been made earlier, but weren't.

Look where I live. And a bit OT but it's kinda equal between Sweden and Finland in CHL at least. Sorry for being a bit stupid but I'm not used to watch a semi without Finland, and it's saturday so..

Anyways, Canada is too strong for not winning gold this year. Congrats!

in reality, the Czechs should be happy they are playing for a Bronze after the Finish game. Canada was just too strong, no real match here, Pevelic kept the score close, but the game wasn't close.

Yes I agree with this one but not the others, we came through this many times previously so we can clearly say that your goal wasn't counting well. Kontiola cross-checked Jordan to the face right before the "goal".

I don't think you Czech's are going to get much sympathy from Canadians about disallowed goals, bad reffing. Canada has been on the other end of bad calls in international hockey for years. In WJHC in 2002 i think it was THe Russian goalie deliberately knocked the net off the moorings just as Canada was scoring, that would have tied the game. Should have been or goal or penalty shot, nothing was called.

2002!? Every team has been on the receiving end of plenty of bad calls since then.
