Not a single solid goal scoring chance for France. This is pretty much the same scenario as in the France-Germany game, a lot of possession and low quality shots for France.Same for Asutria + Latvia.
France should lead the game by 2 goals at least right now

As for Belarusian depth, your team almost entirely consists of Russian and Canadian hockey players. I would also check the world rankings if I were you.
Yes, they're all injured. 2 or 3 players could've gone to the World Champs, but decided to rest and get some long-term injuries in order, although they had no problems finishing the regular season in their club teams. Some of them (most notably - Karsums) always seem to have some mystery injuries whenever the WC comes and these couple of players were the ones I was specifically talking about.
With our depth a top pairing D-man and a top 6 forward are a major loss.
You don't especially need "high mother****ing' sniper" quality shot to score.
Roussel missed an open net, another 2 Vs 1 saved on a beauty move by Masalskis.
Others shot weren't really dangerous I agree except that post.

There were a couple of botched 2-on-1s for France, but that's about it. It's not like you're hitting posts left, right and center.
Roussel didn't miss an open net, he was checked by Dzerins and couldn't get a shot on the net.
Who said that ? Yeah no one.
But if the trend of the first period stays the same for the nxt two periods i like our chances.
If the trend stays the same, you're going to be 3 goals down in mid-2nd period or so.
But we didn't have a single 2-on-1 at all. We're a shadow today. France looks MUCH better. Much more active, faster, dedicated. We lack quality, skill and much more.
We must win despite this all. Let's hope the luck is on our side.

For the moment Latvians play their game and have the "perfect" strategy.
But they will have to battle hard to keep their advantage...

But I do agree with you on Roussel.
France has the same problem that Switzerland has. They need larger goals because they do not seem able to aim at it.
The difference is that Switzerland had a pretty solid defense (and a really good PK), that made the difference.
France still has been playing better than Germany and Latvia in my opinion.
Austria is still the weaker team, but I appreciate a lot the strenght and effort they put to survive. Winning two matches and still go down is anyway bad luck, that counts for every team
