Let that Belarusian guy have his moment.

His team is finally playing decently for once. :D

So, Slovenia and Austria get relegated again. That's pretty funny. But I think next year there is a huge chance that somebody from top 14 will finally get relegated. Kazakhstan is going to be very strong on paper next year and will likely stay up.

I am glad Latvia stayed in Elite. Would be so odd to have WC without them.

Masalskis was flopping like a fish during the penalty shots.

But this was a pretty fun game overall. The only time I got worried was during that breakaway with 9 seconds left in the 3rd period. Sotnieks really played like an amateur in that situation.

Hopefully Belavskis will get sacked and we'll get a decent team together next year (+Kulda+Bartulis+Pujacs+Freibergs+Girgensons+Pavlovs+++) in Russia. It can't get any worse than this. :)

I had totally forgotten that both teams vould stay out of relegation! Was it good guy Latvia letting France tie the game?

I also don't understand, why would they count goal difference before in the top division while they count head to head in the bottom divisions? Shouldn't it be the same for all divisions?

Edit: My bad, Austria lost to both France and Latvia

France already dominated us in the friendly games. This is no surprise. Actually it's very typical of us to let the victory slip away. It's a miracle we didn't lose in the regulation time.

The French didn't even try to score, the shot was right in Masalskis belly.

No idea which game you watched. You somehow missed all the agony in french faces when they missed that last second breakaway? Or the Masalskis going berserk on the dmen who gave away the puck and could have cost us a relegation? Give these guys an academy awards if that was staged haha

 And I'm sure Latvian players don't care one bit whether France stays or goes. It's rather difficult to fix games in WCH.

It's just that in Belarus/Ukraine/Russia/etc. fixing games and bribing people is the norm, so he jumped straight to that conclusion based on his personal experiences and understanding of the world.

France has players from the Swedish and Finnish 2nd leagues on the team and you claim that they're stronger than Switzerland?

I thought they played a better tournament for the most part. Unlucky against Germany. I don't think France is a stronger hockey nation.

I digress, the Swiss are a better team, just hate the way they play. Same thing regardless who coaches them or where they play or who is playing for them.

This was a very entertaining game - France gave all they had and deserved the result.

Austria losing 10-1 to Canada shows that the right team went down although i would prefer Slovenia/Austria play off and send one down.
