Domi is awesome. Glad people are eating crow. A brilliant deal from day one. People may not like all the attitude talk, but it most definitely makes a huge difference.

Meanwhile, on the Coyotes board, some are already wondering if Galchenyuk wouldn't be better used as a winger.

Probably not the last time they'll be debating that lol.

For sure...Domi 10 points in 9 games. Galchenyuk 1 assist. Goes to show how much the so called "experts" on this board know. They all condemned the trade to the lowest.

It's too early. Domi looks real good and I don't think we will lose the trade now but Galchenyuk has only played 2 games. Lets wait a bit to see what Galchenyuk can do

I hated the deal because he was a winger who had trouble understanding how score goals in the NHL.

Well, he's not a winger anymore, he's a very good center who seems to be working on his scoring, though despite the goals still needs work.

So yeah, I love the little bugger, he's my favorite player with Gallagher right now. Still early however.

WTF ahaha?? Chucky played 2 games.

May I remind everyone here that Domi started last season with 8 points in 10 games. He then slept from november to february scoring 17 points in 4 months. He finished the season very strong with 15 points in march in an already lost season (similar to AG 30 goals season).

He looks amazing right now. as he did at the start of last year.. But let's pump the brakes a little.. I hope it lasts. I'd gladly eat crow for once :sarcasm:

Saying it's premature myself, but I foresee the #13 Domi as one more retired Habs jersey's in the not to distant future. Drouin needs to shed the #92 IMHO and take the next number not retired. (Shea Weber has the # 6.) Gallagher's #11 is almost assured of retirement already one of my personal favorites, alongside all previous names here. Carey Price absolute certainty #31 is in the rafters.

These are the names of future hockey gods, lower case of course.:vhappy::vhappy::vhappy:They just aren't aware of these facts, they are enjoying the game as true competitors do, oblivious to all the accolades in their way daily.:wg::wg::wg:

Question as a leaf fan: are you guys happy you are doing well? Or would you just get that elusive 1C in jack hughes and then really be set with a 1-2 of him and kotka?
We didn't take Kotkaniemi 3rd overall to not be that elusive #1C. With Domi looking like a top 6C himself, plus Poehling and Suzuki coming up, and Danault playing well, I believe the middle of the ice has been addressed. Right now more than anything we need a top 4 LD.

Not trying to stir crap up on another board believe me, but I do not see that the centre position being addressed at ALL. I think there is a piece missing especially in our division where most teams are strong down the middle.

Domi is currently playing like a #1C. Kotkaniemi is expected to develop into a #1C. Poehling and Suzuki both have top 6C potential. Those are 4 guys and I haven't even mentioned Danault...

Sure they don't match up perfectly with Tavares/Matthews, but once Matthews is offersheeted by Arizona, that will no longer be a problem.

Agreed.

What's good is both this years top 10 and next years are stacked with centers and scoring forwards. Two more years and likely we've turned this ship around. If Molson is smart (which he isn't), he's making sure we stack draft picks for the next two years and keep many of the young veterans (Danault, Domi, Drouin, Reilly, Gallagher, Lehkonen) while giving guys like Mete, Juulsen and Kotkaniemi time in lower leagues. Price and Weber I'm not sure what to do with right now. Petry, Shaw, Tatar should all be traded away.

It's honestly as good a time I've seen for the Habs to rebuild. It wouldn't even be a long rebuild. This year and the next, that's it.

Unfortunatly, I doubt any of it happens.

I admit I was wrong about the trade but please, stop trying to twist facts in your favor. Galchenyuk has 1 assist, in 2 games. He just started his season.

Yeah, so many great assets to move on our side too. Petry and Tatar have good value right now.

But you know this wont happen.

Don't think it's far off ATM. It's not going to last.

Might be confusing what a 1C is with an elite 1C though, and that Id agree.

A 1C to me is one who you can put against other 1s on contending teams and know you're not giving up all that much to them.

Domi is playing as a 1 as much as Desharnais ever did.

It's hard to take you serious with comment like that.

Domi is way more active in the offensive and defensive zone than Desharnais ever did.

The canadiens have not have a true #1 centerman for ages and Domi excellent play might not last but he has impressed a lot and maybe exceeded expectation. His shot/release has been a eye opener for me I never thought he could score goals like that. Do I condider him a #1 center? No too soon. As he played as a #1 center recently. Yes! PPG and creating all short of havoc is what you expect from a #1 center and he has done just that since the beginning of the year.

Like I said yesterday in the GDT, looking at Domi play reminds of me of a young Scott Gomez. They have a very similar style.
Maybe a bit...but Domi's got more bite and versatility to his game.

Although I'm not sure what Gomez you're talking about?

The Montreak version or the New Jersey one...cause those are 2 different players.
