The NHL looks to have changed..they got the goalies smaller now ..more goals are being scored for sure.....many teams are going offensive style(no more grinder).....So the sky might be much higher now for lots of players....
The emphasis on speed is certainly beneficial for smaller speedy players like Domi (and pretty much all the Habs). I have to give the coaching staff credit here bcause instead of having the players adapt to their style, the adapted to the teams strengths. A sign that we have some good hockey minds behind the Habs bench. Having chemistry with Drouin is massive too. Having an equally skilled and speedy linemate is a luxury hes never had in Arizona.

So yeah, considering the circumstances, I think Domi's ceiling is much higher than it was with Arizona. He's a great fit here and theirs no doubt that he crushes his previous point totals.

so far he's been great, but hard to believe he'll keep up this pace. I mean he certainly has his fair share of skill since he crushed it with London but would be quite the surprise to see him go from 45 pts last year to almost double that with us. I know I was in favor of getting Domi, just wish the trade was for something else even though I was in favor of trading Galchenyuk, I thought if they were going to do that then the plan should have been to prop up his numbers last year to increase his value.
Ya I doubt he ends up with 80+, but I think 60+ is very much on target.

He remind me of Desharnais with his passing. He won't deck anyone but he will always find someone open to pass him the puck without anything flashy. He also have the same piss poor shot and zero reach with his stick but overall his game is much better than Desharnais. No floating, play with an edge and he's tough. I'm a fan.

He definitely does remind me of DD at times.

Domi’s style, skill and shot remind me a lot of Cammalleri, except he’s got much more leadership, compete and toughness to his game. He’s a breath of fresh air, compared to Galchenyuk.

its a guilty pleasure of mine to keep a close eye on this thread. watching some eat crow on this is priceless. I'm not talking about those saying he has exceeded their expectations. its all about the ''king's guard'' of galchenyuk worshipers still around, and enjoying watching them like captains of a sinking ship, proudly standing on the bridge as you can hear their crew screaming out of their lungs in the background : ''Abandon ship!!!!!'' :)

he's growing into one my favorite hab. he's unleashed, I've never seen him look that ''free'' in Arizona... he doesn't care who is in front of him... plays with heart, clear leader on the ice so far this year ... relentlessly doing his this thing.

so, he's gonna pop a few KO's, make the main board cry all year and rack up 60 pts. thrives playing under mtl pressure...

he's ...

and he's coming for you, one gordie howe hat trick at a time.

I wish people would stop with that bullshit.

No one ever talked about him here when he was with the Yotes cause nobody watches the Yotes and nobody cared for Domi. Now that he's a Habs there's people claiming they followed him and liked his game since he's 8 years old or something.

come on now...

I drafted him in my hockey pool 2 years before he got drafted. Its a pool where we have to draft prospects before they get to the nhl. Kotkaniemi has also been in my pool for a full year before this draft. I watched them play, and i dont know if you do or dont, but i'm entitled to be confident about my gut feeling because he's passed the eye test (for me) and he looked bored in arizona.

I was definitely not a fan of the trade. Just a pointless one for me. But there is undenying he's on fire right now. Is that a hot streak or is it the real deal? I'd tend to think it's just a streak but hopefully I'll be wrong.

You're wrong. Most HF Hab fans were in the delivery room when he was born and predicted that his "bloodlines" were going to make him the Yote that everyone in Montreal would follow until he became a Hab. :sarcasm:
