Seeing how powerplay points are essentially meaningless, it's always surprising to see how much whining there is whenever one's favorite team fails to score on man advantage. It's almost like it matters sometimes.

How so? Do PP goals count for half a goal? Are powerplays not coveted scoring opportunities? Do good special teams not force your opponent to be extra cautious not to get penalized? Not meaningless, just less impressive than 5-on-5

It seems to be another widespread myth like that if you are good defensively, you must 'sacrifice some offense' that is very persistent, but nobody can explain why.
In general, but some players are better at generating offense on the pp than others and some are better at 5 on 5. If two players both have 100 pts and one is a lot better at 5 on 5 and has 70 points at even strength and 30 ppp and the other is a lot better on the pp and has 50 and 50 what difference does it make?I'm saying it's a lot easier to score goals and pile up points when the other team has one less player on the ice. Obviously a goal is a goal on the scoresheet but it's a lot more difficult to score at 5-on-5. Isn't that obvious?
Are we really knocking ot winners now ? lol . ClutchIt is really weird only 3 of his 16 points have come at 5 on 5 so far.

Welcome to the Dark side ; there are still fans defending that pic / decision. Baffling both then and now .Gladly take him over an injured Reinbacher for the habs.

Every year its the same thing, this or that prospect is going to be the greatest ever. Wait a year, oh he is about to flourish....year D+4 sure he is playing 4th line, you have to start somewhere!Reinbacher is pulling a reverse Bobby Orr, getting injured first and then going to win the Art Ross and some cups...that's what I'm concluding after reading some other forums...

Well that was another bad draft can't blame them it was the consensus pick!
Still remember in 2021 or so Logan Mailloux was going to redeem Bergevin.. Well he is playing OK for laval, some say good, but he is D + 3 and isn't able to crack the habs weak roster. Might end up OK as D take longer, as do large skaters, but likely a 4-6 guy not a 1-3 guy some expected.
