Yeah, PP points are meaningless when people talk about other teams and players, but when they talk about their teams and players, PPPs are very meaningful.

Pacing for 69 pts as a rookie on an awful squad . Pretty pretty good . Ppg was unlikely to happen out of the chute but 60 ish pts would be an excellent outcome given the situation ( I’ve been pretty consistent on this point ) .

I'd buy the argument about PP points if he were riding shotgun with the likes of MacKinnon and Makar, but he's actually leading his team in that regard...as a 19 year old two months into his first season in NA. The nitpicking just comes across as salty. Everything we've seen so far suggests top-10 upside, maybe higher if he can improve his skating.

I'm saying it's a lot easier to score goals and pile up points when the other team has one less player on the ice. Obviously a goal is a goal on the scoresheet but it's a lot more difficult to score at 5-on-5. Isn't that obvious?

If two players both have 100 pts and one is a lot better at 5 on 5 and has 70 points at even strength and 30 ppp and the other is a lot better on the pp and has 50 and 50 what difference does it make?

Totally fair. In terms of wins and losses it doesn't matter. I'm just saying in general it's harder to score 5-on-5. Nothing against MM per se, as he's already already more impactful than most guys his age.

I'll be more impressed by the guy who has more even strength points but doesn't mean I'm not impressed at all. Kid's got game.

Reinbacher is pulling a reverse Bobby Orr, getting injured first and then going to win the Art Ross and some cups...that's what I'm concluding after reading some other forums...

Well that was another bad draft can't blame them it was the consensus pick!

Still remember in 2021 or so Logan Mailloux was going to redeem Bergevin.. Well he is playing OK for laval, some say good, but he is D + 3 and isn't able to crack the habs weak roster. Might end up OK as D take longer, as do large skaters, but likely a 4-6 guy not a 1-3 guy some expected.

I am glad Habs listened to Boobrov or whatever his name was when passing on Michkov.
