Yeah, PP points are meaningless when people talk about other teams and players, but when they talk about their teams and players, PPPs are very meaningful.

I'd buy the argument about PP points if he were riding shotgun with the likes of MacKinnon and Makar, but he's actually leading his team in that regard...as a 19 year old two months into his first season in NA. The nitpicking just comes across as salty. Everything we've seen so far suggests top-10 upside, maybe higher if he can improve his skating.

How so? Do PP goals count for half a goal? Are powerplays not coveted scoring opportunities? Do good special teams not force your opponent to be extra cautious not to get penalized?

I'm saying it's a lot easier to score goals and pile up points when the other team has one less player on the ice. Obviously a goal is a goal on the scoresheet but it's a lot more difficult to score at 5-on-5. Isn't that obvious?
